Huddersfield Forward Quaner Linked
Sunday, 6th Jan 2019 10:24

Huddersfield forward Collin Quaner is reportedly among Town’s January targets, while the Blues are also keeping tabs on Boreham Wood keeper Ryan Huddart.

According to the Sunday Mirror Town are hoping to sign Quaner along with Cardiff’s Anthony Pilkington, who as previously reported is understood to be in talks regarding a loan move.

Düsseldorf-born Quaner, 27, was with his local club Fortuna as a youngster but only ever featured for their second team before moving on to Arminia Bielefeld, FC Ingolstadt, Hansa Rostock (loan), VfR Aalen and then Union Berlin.

The 6ft 3in forward, who plays down the centre or, as has usually been the case with the Terriers, out wide, moved to Huddersfield in January 2017, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal and featured throughout the rest of that season - 12 starts, 10 sub appearances - as the Terriers won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, adding three goals to the nine he had scored for Union in the first half of the campaign.

Last season he made 13 starts and 13 sub appearances in the Premier League, in addition to five cup starts, without scoring. During 2018/19, Quaner has made only two sub appearances in the Premier League.

Another big frontman may well still be on manager Paul Lambert’s January wish list despite having recruited Will Keane from Hull City on loan on Friday. Quaner’s name has been floating around social media for several days in connection with Town.

Keeper Huddart joined Vanarama National League Boreham Wood after being released by Arsenal in the summer.

The Blues are understood to have been keeping a watching brief on the 21-year-old, who previously had a spell on loan at Eastleigh.

Are we actually going to SPEND ANY MONEY!!??

I too would have liked Stockley from Exeter---banging goals in on a regular basis and seems reasonable price.

We've led 6 games under Lambert and won one of them. Whatever money we have should be going on defenders IMO.
