Strict Conditions for Town Fans at Norwich
Tuesday, 15th Jan 2019 21:18

Town fans attending the East Anglian derby against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday 10th February will be subject to a list of strict sales conditions outlined to them when they receive their tickets.

Those tickets, costing £40 for adults, which are sold one per customer number via the usual priority scheme, must be used by the supporter associated with that customer number, which is printed on the ticket along with their name.

Fans aged over 16 must take photographic ID to the match, to be shown to officials on request along with their ticket, which supporters are told they must keep on their person at all times, or risk ejection.

As has been the case in recent years, the match, which is being shown live on Sky Sports, kicks off at 12 noon but fans have been told to ensure they arrive “no later than 11.30am as the extensive safety checks will take time”.

While East Anglian derbies have been heavily policed and stewarded for some years, the conditions ahead of February’s game represent an escalation.

On Friday, five men are due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court, charged with offences relating to damage caused to the away end at last season’s Carrow Road derby where electrical cables and guttering were pulled down.

........ Errrr!! - cat - I would much prefer to be called a hypocrite, than condoning irresponsible, bad behaviour from 'so called' ITFC Supporters.

Which you, in not so many words, are prepared to condone - shame on you.
If the cap were to fit you, in person - WEAR IT.

...... cat - in addition to the previous, it may be of interest to you, and others (or should be) - that ANY damage done in the away sections of Football Stadia is chargeable to the away Club ........... !!!

Still call yourselves FANS ..... ???

......... cat - continuously showing your 'true' colours ........ !!!

I see you have no answer to my previous post about idiots doing damage, and OUR Club having to pay for it.

Nothing more tiresome, than a pretender who can be seen through......... more to the point.

Like I've told your mate - don't read my posts. I'd prefer certain 'so called Supporters' didn't.

I've seen enough bad behaviour from our fans to know this is not unreasonable. We now are 'one of those teams'.

You don't have to go to Carrow Rd to see idiots there's quite a few at Portman Rd when they do ticket promotions shame realy I expect they are decent people outside of football they must leave their brains and common sense at the turnstiles.

Shouldn't think they will Royal Ascot but then I shouldn't think the fans will be goading Lambert for 90 mins.

Swn98 .......... stating facts, and being truthful is less of a crime than irresponsible behaviour, and causing wilful damage, which the Club has to pay for - in my book.

Apologies to no one, including you, for being totally against embarrassing our Club - which some feel compelled to do.

So frustrating how we're treated there compared to how they're treated here. We open pubs at 6am for them to come and enjoy themselves, yet we don't even have one pub to go to and have to be treated like a terrorist.

some of the behaviour our our "fans" at away games has been disgraceful - even in front of kids sitting nearby...

I went a couple of years ago by train - treated appallingly by the police (mounted and on foot) and generally a very bad experience as a fan. I gather the police all get double over time so they like to 'escalate' the situation into something it's not.

As far as I am concerned both Norfolk and Suffolk Police have spoiled this fixture for the last few years. They have and continue to use a pile driver to crack a peanut. Any trouble is minimal compared with what went on in the seventies and eighties. With such restrictions there is no need to insist on a twelve o'clock kick-off if they know who everyone is. If it has to be twelve o'clock play it on a Saturday when the trains run earlier or if on a Sunday at one o'clock when only a Sunday service is available.
