Danny Rowe scored twice on his second full debut for loan club Lincoln City as the Imps beat Yeovil Town 2-0 at Huish Park this evening.

Rowe, 26, rejoined the League Two leaders for the remainder of the season last Thursday and came on as a sub as they beat Grimsby 1-0 in a local derby on Saturday.

The former Macclesfield man, who spent the second half of last season at Sincil Bank, was handed a start tonight and netted in the 27th minute and in first-half injury time before being subbed in the 66th minute.

One-time Stockport wideman Rowe, who has made only two starts and eight sub appearances since joining Town in January 2017, is contracted to the Blues until 2020 with the club having an option for a further year.

Remember, Keifer Moore looked like Robert Lewandowski in league one...couldn't get a kick at Championship level. Hurst has left us with a legacy that validates my point sadly. And a said it before a ball had been kicked in anger this season too.

On top of this, proven bad performers are being chosen game in game out and are making the same mistakes or are not impacting the game consistently but still play. So what gives

mickeyjb added 08:11 - Jan 23 Another point to note about so called levels is that Lincoln would probably beat us at the moment so I don't buy the he's great in that league but not one higher. Sometimes it works the other way too. So I agree only a run in a team can prove or disprove actual ability.

I remember George Burley would tell the press about a youth who had been impressing and publicly announce that he would give them half a dozen games to prove themselves in the first team. 2 issues with that, firstly times/management seems to have changed, but probably most relevant is that Burley always had the (self developed) luxury of putting youngsters into a footballing and winning team. Can't deny it is tough to put players into the current state of affairs.....and to be fair that has been PL point re bringing in experience to try and haul us out of the mess we are in. We do need an end to this short-termism....and soon regardless of what league we in.

midastouch added 11:13 - Jan 23 Always been keen to see Rowe figure more in the first team picture. He's got pace to burn and could be a real danger man. He's not always made the most of few chances from the bench or rare start but I always thought he was worth getting involved more often to see if he could make the grade in the first team. Like others have said above, he can't be worse than some of the others we've tried such as Jordan Graham.

marco007 added 12:25 - Jan 23 So if League 1 is so poor, how come we always lose to teams from that division?? Yes, the championship has some decent sides but it also has a lot of dross too. I think it's more a case of us unable to provide a system to enable theses types of players to step up. If anyone saw Bolton on Monday, it's shameful and embarrassing that they sit above us in the league!

rubbleblue added 18:22 - Jan 23 I live in Lincoln and have watched Rowe last season and this already. His pace in league two is awesome, his finishing the other night was championship class. He needs games, Lincoln play it well and will win the league. Cowley may want him but I can see him being a stand out for us in whatever league if he stays fit.
