Lambert and Town Fined and Boss Faces Two-Match Touchline Ban
Thursday, 21st Feb 2019 11:19

Town boss Paul Lambert has been handed a two-match touchline ban and a £3,000 fine having accepted an FA misconduct charge following the incident in which he was red-carded just prior to half-time during the East Anglian derby at Norwich earlier this month.

In addition, the club have been given a £20,000 fine for failing to ensure their players and staff conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in relation to the melee as well as a flashpoint close to the end of the second half, while Norwich City have been fined £25,000 for their involvement. The Canaries' higher fine relates to their previous record with regard to similar incidents.

Lambert, who will be banned from the touchline for Saturday’s game at Wigan and next week’s home match against Reading, says appealing the charge would have proved a fruitless exercise, however, he made his thoughts known in a letter to the FA.

“There was no point appealing because I wasn’t going to win but I have had my say about what when on and I stand by every word,” he told the club site.""

“I’ll get on with it now. It’s not ideal but I trust my staff to do what I ask them to do. There will be no problem there.""“Will it make a difference, not being on the touchline? I don’t know. I can talk to the players before the game and after. They will know what is expected of them.”

In a way, this might create a siege mentality and galvanize the squad.

Watching from the stands might give him a better overview. Is he allowed into the changing room at HT? Radio contact with bench too?

He'll write his notes on a bit of paper and make an aeroplane from it and throw it onto the pitch.

Thoroughly support the Leftie comments : the FA are contemptible in their determined isolationist attitude ,and it appears little, if at all, bothered by the discovery of all the facts ,or of actively preserving and promoting integrity throughout .
Never mind ,PL and Co are doing a good job !
