Lambert: We'll Know More About Keane's Injury Before Weekend
Tuesday, 26th Feb 2019 23:02

Town boss Paul Lambert says Will Keane’s injury will be assessed before Saturday’s game at home to Reading with the striker currently working with the Blues’ medical staff.

Keane, who is on loan for the rest of the season from Hull City, suffered a hamstring problem during the 1-1 draw at Wigan having netted his third Town goal from the penalty spot.

“Will has been terrific for us so it’s obviously disappointing for him and for us that he’s picked up an injury,” Lambert told the club site.

“He’s working with the physios and we will know more before the weekend. We will do everything we can to get him back as soon as possible.”

Do they not scan injuries these days to diagnose the severity?

Stick him in an oxygen tank...seriously though I fear he might be rushed back just because of who we're playing on Saturday. Keano has been great and I'd love to see him stay regardless of whether we're down or not but I'd hate to see him get rushed back like Walters earlier in the season.

Can't see him playing this weekend and I think PL is just being sensible by not signposting this to Reading. Who is scoring all the goals for the U23s?! Surely PL has no choice but to blood a couple of them now.

..... and yes they definitely will have scanned his hamstring. I agree it's card close to chest time ref his fitness levels for Sat. Personally, I'd be surprised ( but delighted) if he took part in proceedings.

OK...We have been utter garbage at times this season, Hurst was a disaster, Evans made a huge mistake. But....... £@?k me!!! I have never known a club to suffer such bad luck for an entire season......injuries, refs decisions, it has been unbelievable. Heard a good call from another town fan walking back to the car park on Saturday, if that Wigan team won league one last year, we will be more than ok next year..... let's hope the bad luck stay away too.

I tell what would be the best thing at the minute...A couple of goals from Bish on Saturday!!

We need to start hitting more shots from outside the box as we get into those positions ok then always want to push out wide for a cross

........ in other words, quite possibly yet another out for the rest of the season. They probably know that already, but not saying.

Hope not tho' - he will / would be missed.

........ someone already suggests we should be hitting more shots from outside the box - absolutely right we do, evidence that this works is everywhere you look at all levels of the game.

Why so many players seem to want to walk the ball into the net, I will never understand.

<<beornioblue>> - perhaps its because there are thirteen black cats on the prowl, possibly all smashing mirrors and walking under ladders!
