Blues Closing in On Judge Deal
Sunday, 31st Mar 2019 20:02

Town are closing in on agreeing a new contract with midfielder Alan Judge.

The Sun reported earlier today that Town are close to securing Judge on the two-year contract previously reported by TWTD and we understand that the deal is indeed near to being concluded.

The 30-year-old signed a short-term contract until the summer in January when he joined on a nominal fee from Brentford with the club having an option for a further season.

Irish international Judge has become the Blues’ most influential player since joining the club with talks regarding an extension to his time at Portman Road having been ongoing for a number of weeks.

This would be great IF it happens. I'll wait to rejoice until he's signed on the dotted line. Agree that if he does, it must bode well for Lambert staying too, surely.

1RWR. I said it the moment Judge came to the club.
Unfortunately since then captain Chambo has been rewarded with a new contract.....so will never happen.
Also the captain Chambo doesn't do out of the 11, so he will start every game regardless of form, and will lead the team, even though has been a total failure upto now.

I'm sorry but some people on here just don't have a clue what they are talking about. Before talking about who we need to try and get rid of in the summer why not actually look up their contract situations first? Some of the players being named above are loanees! Adeyemi, Ward, Knudsen, Spence are all out of contract in a few months so we don't need to do anything to get them off the wage bill. Emmanuel will also be our of contract, so if the club want him to stay then they're going to have to make him an offer. Dozzell only has 1 year left on his contract, which is very worrying indeed.

The very best of the younger players will leave.
Why do I say this?
Because our owner is the Marcus Evan's group.
So make your own minds up.

If our best talent are not sold this summer.
Then Mr Evan's needs to inject £12m plus to take us through the next 12 months.
Not rocket science.

Good news at last to end this miserable weekend.

I thought Dozzel was off to Arsenal?

Or did they manage to find a new coach driver?

Would be really happy with this. Doom mongers still around who cannot greet potentially good news without mentioning their dislike of Chambers, Skuse and Evans. Sad people.

Don't mind Evan's, he is what he is.
I look on Chambo and Skuse as failures. Because they are what they are. And we are where we are
Not unless, now in their mid 30,s, anyone expects them to bring success? Sorry but wont move forward with them 2 running the dressing room.

Potentially great news, but love the "offloading" chatter. Utter garbage. We need to keep any senior pro that wants to stay and fight. Skuse had a shocker on Saturday but has been way better under Lambert than in previous seasons. Knudsen is probably our best CB at the Club (forget fullback) and as for Huws....who would have him?! He is under contract and is clearly staying.#

These older pros do not need to start every game and PL has at least subbed Skuse off and even dropped him this season, but they have an impact around the Club. Collins included if you listen to PL.

We may be the first team to bounce into League 1 on a wave of optimism but we need to retain the core of this squad and not have another ludicrous re-boot, when as per last summer, it was not needed.

Sign up Judgy, next season could be a blast and we might even get promoted and come back as contenders in the Championship the year after when the Scum will be back down and on a downer !

Why do we bother posting any reports from the Sun? As soon as that word is mentioned in relation to any report it becomes worthless.

Yeah Alan has done a fairly good job since he's been here and more importantly looks like he has got his fitness back after the broken leg...I'm pretty sure Evans will be selling one or two players (at least) this summer it's just a question of who.

Wow. Skuse has played how many minutes under Lambert?
And had a real good game 3 times, 4 at the most.
And by a good game, I mean considering his ability. Of course we shouldn't expect our most senior midfield player, a club high earner, and possibly most experienced player, to perform in 1 of every 3 games? His average of 1 good performance in every 8 games is not acceptable. But if hes performed well under Lambo, my God how poor was he previous...

Will be a vital part of our “re-birth” next season & surely puts to bed the Lambert leaving rumours?

Northstandveteran what a pig-ignorant comment. Sadly Dozzell's father was also subject to similar nonsense in his time. I doubt you will find a more accurate passer of the ball in the entire Town squad. In a League One season he has the ability to pick apart opposition defences.

I am sorry that you found my post so offensive Bildestoned.

It was meant very much tongue in cheek as a reference to why Arsenal would be interested in a player that can very rarely get into the side that is bottom of the championship.

I personally think he's a decent player but do wonder how highly he would be rated by some on here without his family connections?

Must admit, I can't remember his father getting any stick from the fans?

Really no need for the 'pig ignorant' comment though was there?

Judge - Very Good, playing for contract - lets see what he is like when he isn't
Skuse- Chalobah will not be around next season so we will need someone
Dozzell - he can pick a pass, (and the moment to who) but great to watch- do we build a team around him? - because his commitment to defence needs to improve.
Kenlock- I do not see why we are talking him up yet - i'm not sure a promotion team has him in it
Jackson- this guy is no good - OK lacks confidence- but he also lacks strength, pace and does not make good runs- Urgent need for a goal scorer
Nsiala- certainly has some mistakes in him

Any high earners with injury problems- we cannot take them on and need to get rid of.

Edwards lacks pace? What a load of b*ll*cks MickMillsTash.. He is certainly raw but has proved on more than one occasion that he is quicker than the average defender. I could see him him feeding off Dozzell through balls rather than the "balls to feet" hold up play that we have been asking him to play so far. I think Nsiala does have the occasional mistake in him but is potentially one of the best CBs we have had for a long time. He wins nearly everything in the air, is brave and pretty quick and will be a big asset in Lg 1.

Jackson is 25 so if he is still raw -there might be a reason for it . His game is not about holding the ball up so you might have some sympathy for him but I just cannot see anything positive in him at this level - yes if Dozzell passed to him (he would have to make a good run) then he might excel but he's more likely to 50p the ball wide of the goal, he does not look like a poacher - he has not shown pace out wide and from what I have seen cannot out run most centre backs.
Nsiala - I first saw him at Derby away and thought positionally he was good but Sheff wed away he cost us the game and since I thought he has looked dodgy. He does give us some height and we are a small team. If Div 1 is about hitting diagonals to the big man then he will be useful but suspect there will be some passing teams and he will be caught out. Berra, Webster, McCauley were all far far better and Knusden is a better centre back

Bildestoned. Very harsh, Especially NSV. Who im sure many would consider one of the sites better, more realistic posters.

Thanks 73.

I wouldn't say one of the better but possibly one of the more negative posters 😂

Well done to all of you who remain upbeat though, as I am really struggling to find anything positive about winning 3 games all season and playing in division 1.
