Town Launching Sensory Packs
Tuesday, 2nd Apr 2019 17:14

Town have announced that they will make sensory packs available to supporters with disabilities for the 2019/20 campaign.

The packs are aimed at helping supporters, especially those with autism, to enjoy games at Portman Road and elsewhere, as well as other events.

The packs will be in an official Ipswich Town drawstring bag containing a disability awareness lanyard featuring a map of Portman Road, noise-cancelling headphones and a club-branded fidget spinner and club-branded soft stress ball.

Town will announce how the sensory packs can be obtained in due course.

My 9 year old has Autism, has been to one game so far and knowing that these will be available next season will be very useful indeed. Nice tie in by the club on World Autism Day 2019!

It's really great to see ITFC moving in this direction :autism is so so difficult to cope with, both for the sufferer and for willing ,helpful adults .
There is such a variety within the spectrum ,BUT in our family experience time , patience , good humour and a never ending commitment to demonstrate understanding all play a part .
It is so good to see Town taking this wonderful step !!

Well done to itfc, this is a great idea. Our son is a Town fan and Autistic. He would much rather wear ITFC ear defenders than the boring black ones he has.

My daughter attended a town game a while back and burst out crying when we scored due to the noise. We have since had her diagnosed with autism and now understand the sensory issues.

Well done Town for addressing the issue.

That's brilliant news. As a season ticket holder with an autistic son we have noise and anxiety issues most home games . Well done town

Great to see our club understanding the challenges of autism. Another sign that our community roots are coming through.

What about a blind fold to save themselves from seeing what is going on on the pitch !

A great Idea but a big negative for having "Sensory Pack" emblazoned on it.
