Bolton Staff Finally Paid
Thursday, 4th Apr 2019 10:02

Bolton Wanderers staff are reported to have finally been paid their March wages with the playing squad set to end their walkout this morning.

According to Sky Sports, staff have now been paid, although it’s not yet clear whether the players have also received their salaries.

The squad refused to train for 48 hours earlier in the week in protest at the staff not being paid last Friday, the second successive month that wages had been late. However, they are reported to be returning to the training field this morning ahead of Saturday’s match against Town.

Off-field employees receiving their wages is likely to remove the threat of a strike by matchday staff, which should mean the Safety Advisory Group will reinstate the University of Bolton Stadium’s safety certificate.

Following an emergency meeting of the Safety Advisory Group last night it was reported that the game would go ahead as long as adequate staffing levels are in place.

It’s expected a formal announcement confirming that the match will take place as originally scheduled will be made this morning.
