Judge: Easy Decision to Make
Friday, 5th Apr 2019 14:32

Alan Judge says it was an easy decision to make to extend his stay with the Blues until at least the summer of 2021 with the club having an option for a further season.

The 30-year-old has put pen to paper on the deal after impressing since joining the club for a nominal fee from Brentford in January.

“It was an easy decision,” he told iFollow Ipswich. “I am not enjoying where we are in the table but I am enjoying playing for this club.

“I felt at home here from the first day I arrived. The supporters have been great and when you think where we are in the table, the atmosphere around the place is incredible really.

“I’ve had people ask me why I would sign for a club at the bottom of the league and I’ve said the most important thing for me is to enjoy my football and I’m doing that here.

“The season has not gone as well as we would have hoped but I’m here and looking forward to the challenge of helping the team get back heading in the right direction.”

Great news. Pleasing to see him stay with us on our upwards journey.
No doubt he could have earned more by moving to another championship club but Alan has put happiness before greed. Well done.

Nice one. Blue Action take a bow, clearly a contributing factor to signing better players.

Good fit for the club - we like proper footballers! Hopefully he can see the potential like Lambert can, and imagine what it would be like if we get this club heading North again

He will be a massive help to Bishop and Dozzell. Both can only get better with Judge around

Great news. Well done PL for signing him to begin with and for persuading him to stay. If he can avoid injury he will create plenty of chances. Now need someone to convert them.

As much as this may have been on the cards, it is still a statement signing. Apparently MM and Keane couldn't get this type and level of player in when we were mid table. Perhaps the joyless atmosphere had more impact than just or remoteness...... being all of 55 minutes from the capital!!!

It would be greedy but a proven league 1 goalscorer now would make next season something to really feel positive about. Today's signing guarantees play offs, a proven goalscorer and we can justifiably dream of automatic promotion. COYB

WELCOME MR JUDGE!!

Excellent news, quality player, although it is interesting that a few podcasts have suggested he has always lived up to expectations.

Agree this is a statement signing and will help ticket sales.

Not only is he a quality player, he is clearly enjoying his time at the club. I think he will have a positive influence on the likes of Downes, Bishop and the other young players.
