Chambers to Be Honoured at End-of-Season Dinner
Wednesday, 10th Apr 2019 11:12

Town skipper Luke Chambers, who passed the 300 Blues league appearances mark at Bolton on Saturday, will be honoured at this year’s End-of-Season Dinner, the club has announced.

In addition to the presentation to long-serving captain Chambers, who recently signed a new two-year deal with the club, the Academy Player of the Season, Goal of the Season and Corporate Customers, Box-holders and Sponsors Player of the Season are among the awards handed out at the annual black-tie event.

The dinner, sponsored by Greene King IPA, takes place The Hangar at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall on Tuesday 7th May with boss Paul Lambert, his coaching staff and the players all present.

Email sales@itfc.co.uk or call the Town sales team on (01473) 400594 for further information or to book a place at the event. ""

North'vet' They just don't get you do they, cannot remember you slating Chambers as many like myself do. Yes Chambo might be a decent person, great ambassador for the club la, la, la but when it comes to all things football, which ultimately matters, he has seriously underperformed this season and the last and the one before that, end of. Let's all have a relegation paaarrrrrtey FFS

Blueboy1981 - the problem is you don't seem to understand the word respect either, otherwise you wouldn't constantly disrespect those who happen to disagree with your opinion. I agree generally with what you say as it goes, but occasionally I don't. When I don't, you don't appear able to respect that opinion and in that lies the problem.

On this, I don't believe anyone deserves an award. You disagree. It's called a difference of opinion. Not necessarily lacking respect.

It is odd that a player not rated by so many on this site has over 600 league appearances, the vast majority of which were at championship level. I wonder at what level all of those who anonymously denigrate club players and managers have coached or managed. Given the wide experience of the coaches and managers who have clearly rated him, have you ever considered that it might instead be your football knowledge or experience that is deficient?

For me, being a club supporter means giving the benefit of the doubt to club servants and trusting those who run the club & team. There are many willing to attribute blame to owner, players and managers for the clubs present position. I have not seen many on this site accepting their share of the responsibility for what has happened this season.

Perhaps there should be an award for ' Most prolific moaner on TWTD'. There would be plenty of candidates. If Chamber's critics are in work I wonder what their colleagues would say about them ?
Chambers is in the twilight of his career, give him the respect he deserves.

In the words of Boycie "Dear God, they'll be giving Del Boy a medal for good taste next.
NSV.... I found it funny if others didn't and I agree that they should shelve any 'honours' this season. And as for L. C getting honoured for his milestone, its only because no one has the grapefruits to drop him! Mind you, he does give everyone a good laugh with his key stone cop defending.
Keep smiling all, cheap fish when we go up north next season and remember to laugh at the green and yellow whipping boys from August

No Cat, they don't 😂
I thought a carriage clock was a nice idea!
I can't remember ever posting anything negative about Chambers to be honest.
He has been on an equal par with every player that has turned out this year in a town shirt.
Awful.
I totally agree with jas0999 on his earlier comment. Although he often disagrees with my posts 😂 .
My comments were very much tongue in cheek although I was clearly the only one the found them funny. Still if you can't laugh at yourself....
I can take the minus arrows ( although I choose not to do it myself ) but being sounded out by armchair fans does get a little annoying.
Still, I won't enter an argument with total strangers.
I suppose in the age of technology its easy to misinterpret words on a screen and oh so brave to be rude to people from the comfort of your living room.
I never thought I'd say this but come back Swn.
I don't like being the pantomime villain 😂
( But the reality is that I couldn't give a monkies )
But thanks cat, for reaching out to me in my day of need 😂😂😂

Chambers is no more a legend than I am. An embarrassing team with a clueless halfwit as captain. They should all be ashamed of tonight's performance so far tonight. Guilty as charged you waste of space.
Mark me down if you feel the need but if they give this joke an award then it sums us up completely

As much as I don't rate him he probably deserves some form of pat on the back. But unless he's off at the end of the season then an end of season 'celebration' is totally wrong. We should be ashamed.
If the players want to have a meal then by all means have one but the club making a big thing about it and asking fans if they want to join in the celebration shows how far from reality the club is.

I also wrote that I won't entertain arguments with complete strangers.
I hope you have a wonderful day,
