Millwall Linked With Bialkowski
Thursday, 6th Jun 2019 18:17
Millwall are reported to be showing interest in Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Lions have joined Birmingham City in eyeing the 31-year-old.
Millwall are very much in the market for a keeper with David Martin having joined West Ham, Ben Amos's loan from Bolton having ended and Jordan Archer having decided to move on this summer with his contract up.
Town are understood to be willing to consider bids for the Polish international, who is the highest-paid player at Portman Road following the bumper new deal he signed last year after returning from duty with Poland at the World Cup finals in Russia.
That new contract followed the Blues' refusal of a £3 million offer from Birmingham for Bialkowski, who, following a tough season for both club and player, is likely to fetch significantly less this summer.
League One football will do nothing to improve Bialkowski’s international prospects and despite having said he is happy at Town - and that he plans to live in Suffolk once he retires - a move back to the Championship is likely to appeal should a club - whether those currently linked or another side - firm up their interest.

Fair enough if he leaves, but not Millwall....!!
Girthyguy added 18:21 - Jun 6
Don't care who he goes to as long as we get a decent fee for him.

Millwall may be in the league above but honestly, I’d rather play for town in league 1.

This won’t be popular amongst the Bart fan club, but I think it says a lot about how other clubs perceive Bart, by the level of Clubs coming in for him. The big Clubs are hardly battering our doors down are they!

Some clubs are chancing their arm or going for the publicity. Lambert stated our players will not be sold on the cheap and whilst we wont get the £3m Birmingham offered (not quite sure how they managed to do that given their financial state at the time) I expect him to move on somewhere like Crystal Palace or a top 8 Championship club.

Why not just loan him out for the season, get the other club to pay a significant amount of his wages, then we get him back after our single season in league one.

It’s early days ; we shall, probably like Bart, have to bide our time !
BUT something went the most dreadfully amiss under that nincompoop Hurst ,and there can be no doubt it severely affected our man .,
HE has wisely kept stumm !

Baddoeblue, after the season he's just had he's not going to play in the Prem now is he! A playoff chasing Championship club is more likely but ArnieMs right - they are hardly battering our door down to take him. Its a sign of Towns state but few of our players are worth much. Bishop could be a target now he's fit and he would be worth a few bob. Lancaster when he's fit again will surely be keenly tracked. Just hope we can hang on to them at least.

It would suit as he won't have to move his family.
However it would merely underline the precarious state we are in financially if, I say if, he were to sign for Millwall

Some players can stand up for themselves ( or others) and confront Bullies. I don’t think Bart is very strong mentally for a seasoned professional.Hurst and his side kick,Doig were most definitely major bully. Chambers actually squared up to Hurst. But I think the manor in which Bart was dropped, hit him hard. He didn’t recover all season!

Who Wants to be a Millwallionaire!
dukey44 added 20:03 - Jun 6
We just signed 2 new keepers, seriously does it matter where he goes as long as we get descent money. Totally irrelevant where he goes next?

dukey44 : you’re not wrong there .

New season new start we have just signed two new keepers so I am presuming he is going to go.

Millwall! We could lose one of our top players to farkin Millwall! Oh how we have fallen.

Much bigger club, if Ipswich get 500k take it and run
Cakeman added 23:42 - Jun 6
Millwall could suit him well. Could play for them and remain living where he is. Not far to travel.
runaround added 23:43 - Jun 6
Millwall might suit him geographically but would expect other championship teams could probably offer him a better wage & better prospects

A bit sad for him that his best options are Birmingham and Millwall. Shows what a poor season he (and everyone else) had last year.

Who cares where he goes.
Let the bidding commence.

I wonder how much the departure of Malcolm Webster added to the loss of form last season.
“Mally is one of the reasons I came to Ipswich. He sees things that other coaches don’t see,” Bart Bialkowski told the Club website.
“He has played a massive part in my career and I can’t thank him enough.”
And if the bully reports are correct in respects of Hurst and Doig, it could explain a lot.

if we consider his whole Town career, he's been a great player. Some of the saves he used to make were like Gordon Banks. But he's not what he was, and not well managed last season:- "I can't believe you're the highest paid player at this club." Geographically, Millwall would be a good fit, also they don't play out from the back, and have centre halves who dominate the 6-yard box, and can defend corners, thus giving Bart time to get his confidence fully back.

Keep him, play him at CB. Couldn't be any worse than what's currently there.

Had a poor season (ruined by Hurst?) and if we can get more than a million well happy---providing we can re-invest on players and not let the owner squirrel it away!!
