Sears Making Good Progress
Friday, 14th Jun 2019 19:28

Striker Freddie Sears is progressing well as he recovers from the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury he suffered at Norwich in February.

The 29-year-old is expected to be sidelined for between nine and 12 months.

“Freddie received good reports after seeing the specialist at the three-month follow-up after surgery,” Town physio Matt Byard told the club site.

“He is at the strength and conditioning stage at the moment and gaining strength all the time.

“We anticipate him stepping up to the AlterG work in the next couple of weeks. There is obviously a long way to go but he is making good progress.”

Losing Freddie was almost as bad as the result that day. Having said that, selfishly he is too good for league 1 and will now still be with us to prove that..... which would not have been the case of he was still fit and showing his worth as he had started to do to once again under PL.

It will be like making a key signing in the January transfer window when Freddie returns to full fitness. Could be just what we need to continue our push for promotion and then, all being well, we can give him another contract in the summer.

It'll be like a new signing when he returns to full fitness. Look forward to seeing how he fits in with the likes of Norwood, Lankester, Edwards etc. Personally feel that a front 2 with him and Norwood would suit but I guess by the time he is ready to play, we will already have an idea of how we're looking to approach this season. COYB!

Paul Lambert if you are reading this...use Kayden Jackson wide right as per James Scowcroft a few years back..pace and good in the air with an eye for goal..difficult for defenders to suss this one..with JN up front could pay dividends ..AJ in number 10 role ...

Problem is oldblue that Kayden cannot jump, let alone win everything Wrighty punted over to Scowcroft who won just about every header. In fact our general weakness in the air with exception of Nsiala is a concern defensively, even if we keep it on the ground going forward.

I take your point Portmanterrorist but at the level we are playing at I think its worth a go..KJ can score goals at this level .
We might be better in the air with Holy Moses in goal tho !!
So important that we sort the defence out..Chambers a major part of the problem so hopefully that will resolve itself..
