Carabao Cup Draw on Thursday
Monday, 17th Jun 2019 10:26

Town will learn their Carabao Cup first round opponents at 7pm on Thursday, having discovered their League One fixture programme earlier in the day.

The EFL announces their fixtures at 9am, when they will be available on TWTD, with the draw for the Carabao Cup made the same evening, live from the Morrisons supermarket in Colindale, close to Wembley Stadium where the final will eventually take place, in contrast to previous draws which have taken place in the likes of Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City.

The draw, which will be regionalised on a north-south basis and features 70 teams, will be made by John Barnes and Ray Parlour. It will be live on the Carabao Cup Facebook page, the EFL’s Twitter and on EFL.com. The games will take place in the week starting August 12th.

Last season the Blues were beaten 4-2 on penalties at Exeter City in round one following a 1-1 draw.

Talk about devaluing the already devalued league cup - draw will take place in Morrisons near Wembley !?

They could do the FA cup draw at the same time as a BOGOF special.

They've already pencilled in the Harvester car park in Lowestoft for next years draw. They've bought the gazebo and everything.

Why can't I get excited about this?...maybe it's because I've just looked at our recent results in this and how we perform. Agree with other posts what an embarrassment to host a draw in a supermarket.

Oh well, at least by us being in League One now there is lower odds on drawing and then being humiliated by a lower league team lol.

Azure mark, unfortunately ( or fortunately) depending on your view point . We are still seeded in round 1 and will be playing a league 1 or 2 side, so room for further cup embarrassment ... Or maybe a better chance of a cup run.......

A repeat of our win over Luton a couple of years back would now be viewed as a giant-killing.

Chocorange this cup isn't seeded anymore, we could play anyone in the southern section.

Not an away game in some far flung part of the country, as with Exeter. The club must have lost out on that financially.

Colchester away would be fine. Easy to get to for our lot, so certain to be a sell out making for a better atmosphere and game, I should imagine.

Always more fun with an away game that is not a ruddy safari trek to get there.

Im sure its common knowledge somewhere, but why are all (bar 2??) championship clubs in the first round this year??

TractorCam added 17:45 - Jun 17
It's always been like that Deano85, then the other 2 and 14 prem clubs join round 2, then the top 6 in the prem join round 3.

We could be playing Derby, or Leeds as underdogs.
Nice

I think some posters are being unfair, the convenience for John Barnes and Ray Parlour to be able to do their shopping after the draw should not be underestimated...
