Norwood and Judge at Playford Road
Wednesday, 3rd Jul 2019 11:26

New striker James Norwood and midfielder Alan Judge joined their team-mates at Playford Road this morning having been given additional time off at the start of pre-season training.

Norwood, signed on a free transfer from Tranmere last month, was handed the further week and a half’s break having been involved in his former club’s successful League Two play-off campaign, while Judge was similarly allowed the extra few days having played for the Republic of Ireland in June.

The Blues’ new frontman posted a video of his arrival at his new club on Instagram bearing the legend ‘First day at school’.

Norwood will get straight into action at what’s likely to be a sweltering Playford Road, while Judge’s involvement will be more limited due to the broken wrist he suffered in Ireland's Euro 2020 qualifier in Denmark.

The Town squad fly out to Germany for their 12-day training camp tomorrow with their first friendly against Paderborn at the Stadion Laumeskamp in Delbrück on Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, former Blues defender Paul Digby has joined League Two Stevenage from Forest Green Rovers, while ex-midfielder Adam McDonnell has moved from Aldershot to Boreham Wood.

Elsewhere, released Rotherham defender Dominic Ball, who was linked with Town earlier in the summer, has signed for QPR.

All the available spaces, and he pulls into bay 8...not a great 1st day at the office. It was only when he went to move into bay 4, that he was warned of how Hurst got off on the wrong foot.....

Barty. Unfortunately all of the best bosman frees have been snapped up already like Norwood was. The last of them are just dotting the I,s and crossing the t,s.

Luke Garbutt a player who,s really lost his way over recent years.

Should be a good fit.
Now official QPR have lost their star midfield man.
If the Judge rumours are true, now could be the time they make there move....

Can't wait to hear of our much needed signings. I'm sure Evans is working extremely hard to bring more quality into the club.
