Walker: Bart Has Dealt With Tough Year Really Well
Wednesday, 17th Jul 2019 09:44

Keeper-coach Jimmy Walker says Bartosz Bialkowski has dealt with what's been tough year for him really well and came back for pre-season training in great shape.

Poland international Bialkowski, the club’s Player of the Year for three seasons, had a disappointing 2018/19 campaign and then saw a move to Millwall break down towards the end of last month.

“There was a lot of speculation about him in the summer and I wasn’t sure how he would come back when we returned to training but he’s been great,” Walker told iFollow Ipswich.""

“He has dealt with everything really well. He’s had a tough year or so. There has been so much going on for him in his head.

""“He didn’t reach the standards he set for himself last season and that disappointed him more than anyone else.

“We all know Bart’s qualities and if he can get back to that level that will be fantastic for everyone.""

“He has come back in great shape and from a selfish point of view, I’m delighted because with Tomas [Holy] it gives me two fantastic keepers pushing for a first-team place.”"

Bart just needs to forget about the division he's playing in and worrying about whether he'll get a call up for Poland.

He just needs to start enjoying his football again. The rest will come if he finds his form from previous years.

With Holy and Bart at the club we've surely got the best goalkeeping options in the league.

Hopefully Bart has hit the "Factory Reset" button. I don't think that returning back late and coming into the Paul Hurst strategy "prove yourself strategy" didn't really help him last season. things last season. I also don't think he had confidence in who was in front of him Centre Back wise and this may still be an issue to be addressed.

We shouldn't have to depend on a keeper playing brilliant, like I've said before if a keeper gets player of the season something is seriously wrong. Sort the defence out PL no good scoring goals if the defence is going to leak more than you score.

I have said this before... but last year he said he had an announcement and it wasn't anything to do with a transfer, but he was waiting for the right time to say? Anyone able to find the article this was mentioned?

With the defence we have I think we're going to need Bart and Holy in goal !
Captain calamity isn't going to give them any protection !

My heart bleeds for him...yep it's been a hard year playing a game you love and getting well paid for it. I do get fed up with this sort of nonsense...

Very short memories, However very typical of town fans. He was a god for 3 years and the call was to sign him on a long term contract no matter what the cost.
Reminds me of the stick Richard Wright got in his last year here.

Wonder how Bart will cope with having to battle for his place this season? Not well I fear.

Northstander blue - Who told him he wasn't good enough? To me this is a nothing story Bart is a good keeper no more no less but really did he really have a hard year I doubt it...
