New Judge Bid Rejected Report
Monday, 22nd Jul 2019 10:35

Town are reported to have rejected a new bid of £450,000 from QPR for midfielder Alan Judge.

According to The Sun on Sunday’s Alan Nixon, the Blues have rebuffed the Championship’s side’s second offer for the Irish international but with the player said to be keen on the move.

QPR, managed by Judge’s former Brentford boss Mark Warburton, are previously understood to have made an offer of £250,000 for the 30-year-old.

Speaking on Friday Town boss Paul Lambert appeared to tacitly confirm the earlier bid but insisted that the Blues wouldn’t allow Judge, who only signed a new two-year contract in April, to depart for a derisory fee.

“There is no way he is going to leave this club for a value that in my opinion is nowhere near his true worth," he said after the friendly victory at Colchester.

“If we let him go to QPR who do we get in? Everybody has a value, absolutely, but there’s got to be a bit of realism.

"The football club got Alan going again and made him play consecutive games. We gave him a great opportunity. He did well for us last season but we did well for him.

"It’s a two-way thing and there’s no chance he is going to just walk out the door.”

Judge is yet to appear for the Blues in a pre-season friendly due to the broken wrist he suffered while on international duty with the Republic of Ireland last month.

It's nothing to do with the manager what happens depends on how desperate Evans the clown is to claw back some of his money.

@Midastouch - when Judge first came here I was worried about his form after the broken leg a season or so beforehand and I saw him at Brentford earlyish last season as my uncle is a season ticket holder there and can say he did very little as well as another time I saw him on the box before, so had reservations about him. Thankfully when he came here he did give us another dimension to our game and looked relatively fit, BUT towards the back end of last season his game did dip again and what I heard didn't contribute that much away...

The unintended consequences of rather be in league 3 than have Mickma in charge.

@ TimmyH I saw him score a good goal for Brentford against Arsenal (a nice free kick) but didn't see too much of his form at Brentford following his return. One thing I will concede is Brentford are very cute in the transfer market. Look at their dealings in recent years and you know they understand buy low and sell high! Something we could learn a lot from! If Brentford don't want a player that always worries me a bit! For example, I think they saw the writing on the wall for Jonathan Douglas who was very effective for them for a while but later on his legs looked shot such as when he was reduced to hobbling around at St James Park running around like a headless chicken.

If true let him stew in the reserves, until his contract ends.its time players and agents are told to get lost, they do not run the football club and are just employees.

I never thought he would ever play for us this season. Last season's contract signing was a "thank you" to ITFC for getting him back in the shop window knowing that someone would bid some money and we we get a fee for helping him last season. He has hurt his arm and could easily play with a protective sleeve. I suspect he has not played so he cannot get injured!

Take the money and use it for something else. As previously mentioned, changing our style to accommodate him does not let all teams U21s, U18s, etc play the same way so it is more difficult for them to step up to the first team.

Some of the youngsters coming through look comfortable now as the systems are the same

If there's any truth in this, then it makes things very interesting. Guess with Ipswich being Ipswich he will be sold for a silly fee at the end of the transfer window without a serious replacement. Kind of got used to it now!!

If he wanted Champ football he should have not signed the contract that he did sign a mere 3 months ago... he insisted he wanted to be at Town so if his head has been turned that speaks volumes about character Warburton or no.

If he goes there is every chance he will start the 20/21 season in L1 anyway.

If it was a PL club, hell even if it were a Champ side with a chance of going up I'd understand.... but QP we spunked how much money up the wall and now don't want to accept the consequences R? Having several Giraffes that

Paul Lambert has pretty much summarised the situation with his comments. Who on earth would we get in to replace a player of Judges quality? Particularly when Evans is unlikely to release any of the fee for a replacement. Best we could hope for is a loan or free on a cheap wage.

The club sold season tickets based on the fact they had shown ambition and signed Judge on a new deal. Selling him now would be a huge own goal and a major kick in the teeth for those who renewed.

There's only one out come in this saga he wants to speak to QPR you know that team that plays in that dolls house at lofthouse rd so it's obvious he wants to go theres no point in keeping a player who's not happy even if we got ten million pounds we're not going to have any of it to spend as Evans wants to sell the club and recoup the money he's already put in the club sad but they are the facts.

This whole scenario feels very familiar... (Waghorn last year)
It didn't get dealt with properly last season let's hope some lessons have been learned this year,
Paul lambert/Marcus Evans must go public and bang a price tag on his head £3 million negotiating with QPR and don't let him go for less than £2.5million.

This must be dealt with ASAP many season tickets were sold on the basis that Ipswich showed ambition in signing him, the only way us fans are not going to be disappointed and disillusioned is if we keep him at Portman road or get a significant fee fast and the money reinvested back into the squad. Over to you Mr Evans...

It shows the sad decline of this club
Player wants to leave and he not really kicked a ball since signing
Every year something else comes along and you think how much more desperate can this club get

Look at the players were trialing if we can only get leauge one two cast offs then play the youth teams it's heartbreaking

Judge goes then so do I.season ticket standing order cancelled.t the point of supporting a team led from the top by a load of cowboysLambert came with all his bright ideas and virtually fell on his sword when he started to tell Evans what head been doing wrong with his running the club.

The club missed a beat not making Judge captain, then building team and club around him.
We decided to stick to the failed method, in true ITFC fashion.

Ipswich signed the player despite relegation which many would have been surprised about probably with the ambition of him being a stand out in a promotion campaign, he would look a cut above in league one in quality. ‘If' the story has any truth the players draw to QPR would signify an opportunity to stay in the championship and reunite with a manager who Judge played his best football under. Again if true then the decision is do you want an unsettled player in the dressing room when you are trying to rebuild a positive atmosphere for a fresh start.

Can't see the reason for the club or owner getting blamed for his so far, QPR have been disrespectful by attempting to unsettle the player with a derisory offer. Ideally judge would have come out and said he was happy here and looking for the season with us but probably not going to happen. The one thing that is true is even if we were given £1m for him there isn't anyone we can sign for that amount who would strengthen as at that level difficult to replace. Would like to see Judge here at the start of the season. His quality in creativity would have been exciting in league one .
