Lambert: Judge Has Indicated He'd Like the Opportunity
Tuesday, 23rd Jul 2019 22:43 by Darren Campbell

Blues manager Paul Lambert confirmed that midfielder Alan Judge has indicated that he wants to join QPR, who have made two bids for the Republic of Ireland international.

The West Londoners, who are managed by Judge’s former Brentford boss Mark Warburton, have had offers of £250,000 and £450,000 rebuffed by the Blues.

“Judge has spoken to me and I think he would like to go, it's his prerogative to say what he wants to do,” Lambert said.

“I don't know, I'm not sure with it. He's spoken to me and I guess it's over to Judgey and see what he wants to do and if he just let us know one way or another but I think he wants to. I really don't know at this minute.”

QPR have until the Championship transfer window closes on August 8th to continue their pursuit of 30-year-old Judge, who only signed a new two-year deal with the Blues in April.

Lambert has previously described the Dubliner as a key man and he says he will be an important player if he remains at Portman Road after the deadline.

“He has to be, there's no two ways,” the Town manager added. “If you're here, you have to play your absolute heart for the club, we have a big fan base behind us.

“But I think he's got to be clear in his own head. I think at the minute he's up and down with it. He's done well for us last season. I've had chats with him and he's indicated that he'd like the opportunity.”

ok not good that he wants to go to QPR after signing for us, but people saying they bought season tickets on the strength of him joining town .....REALLY ? more money than sense comes to mind. He is a decent player [on his day] but nothing to rave about ,calm down peops, he wants out, then so be it ,We need players that want to play for the club .So long Alan and good luck, YOU WILLl NEED IT .

Will those that bought replica shirts for their children with Dozzell or Judge on the back be reimbursed?

Or will they be given the Brad Pitt ' Snatch ' answer of " sold as seen " along with the season tickets they shifted?

Evans independent traders.

This whole saga epitomises the seedy side of professional football. Where contracts are meaningless, and honesty, loyalty and personal integrity count for nought.

We should take the maximum amount of money from. QPR, and let this disloyal mercenary FO!

for those who say we will just give him over to QPR as ME wants the money, they forget the £7 million he turned down for McGoldrick and he turned down Millwall when they wanted to lower the price for our ex hero keeper.
He sells players that the manager tells him are not in their plans. Mick would not have stayed as long as he did if he had no say in who was coming in or out, he backed Hurst with 12 new signings and again Lambert will not stay if he can get the players he needs to build the club, he will only sell the players who don't want to be here.

If he goes then he and his agent should forfeit any bonus for signing that last contract. Joke now it should be put a u have to work a full season of a new contract.

With a net spend of about minus 6 million. That's why we went down. His tenure has been a prolonged and spectacular failure. And yet, mystifying, there are still some on here willing to stand up and defend him. One of the biggest mysteries of the world along with stonehenge and are there aliens in outerspace...

Maybe just maybe he was given assurances from people at the club that we would have a great chance and ambition to bounce straight back up you know like the assurances we all got before every season ticket renewal talking about challenging for play offs under mick to then be told later from mick his actual remit was to stay in the league! Why would a class player like him want to stay at a club with zero ambition with an owner worth over 800 million breaking promises then mugging us off with “Ive made mistakes” just because some of you on here get sucked into that doesn't mean everyone does! We need a player who can change games in this league and we had it in judge now what!? Well never replace him if we were going to replace players we would've done that already replacing other players who have left?
Wake up people were biased cos we support the club and can't understand why people would want to leave but players who don't support the club will look at the ambition in a club which we do not have any more even though we have the richest owner in the league.

if he doesn't want to play for the club then its best for all parties to let him go unfortunately. we only need and want players who want to play for the club!

Sounds like the third QPR offer has matched our valuation, if PL has spoken to Judgey. But if it was firstly £250K, secondly £450K, then the third offer will only be £650K max.

Hard to say whether we will miss him or not, but he hasn't played pre-season, which PL puts a high emphasis on. Can't really argue with him for wanting to play at a higher level, and lives locally to QPR.

He was played out wide for us, which he doesn't like. Thinks he's a No. 10. But he didn't score goals. Does show how far we have fallen if cramped little QPR is a bigger club than us, but then again, Watford, near the allotments, is similar, small family club.

I really hope we make a go of it this season, with our midfield youngsters playing a major part, PL trusting them.

Evans being blamed for this one as well. How was he to know that Judge would be wanting to leave? I'm afraid that this is how the world of football works, where a lower league team's best players are cherry picked by teams playing in a higher league. It's obviously very disappointing, and a bit of a hammer blow I think personally, but as has been said already, if he really wants to go then make sure he leaves at a premium price. Presume he won't be at the Open Day tomorrow?

So, for what it is worth.... here is my thoughts.

1. Judge will leave for QPR within the next two weeks for a few of £750,000
2. I have it on very good authority that Evans has been trying to get out now for 18 months.
3. There will be no further investment by Evans until he finds someone to buy this club.
4. We will (very sadly) be at this level for several seasons now.

I will forever support ITFC, it's in our blood and that will never change, however football is totally a different game now from when I first started going with my Dad in the late 70's.

A sad time for our beloved club.

Mid table finish in the championship....or fighting to stay in L1.
No brainer I'd say.

Dirtymagee.....didnt get season ticket on judge signing alone but was instrumental in indicating that maybe just maybe Evans serious about bouncing straight back up and hence good season tickets sales......truth is now sadly revealed in spite of massive reduction in wages, sale of Harrison and money from Clarke, Mings add ons etc no money whatsoever will be reinvested and with a ever longer injury list IT JUST ISNT GOOD ENOUGH 🐬

Should of made Judge the club captain when the chance was there.
Now being led into the new season with the poorest captain in clubs history. To go with the poorest squad and worse yet to come League standing.

I've totally lost any respect I had for Judge !
And we will probably get less than 500k for him, which I doubt will be re invested!
Why does Evans give the poor managers money for players and nothing to the ones that actually know a good player when they see one ???
