Lambert: Judge Has Indicated He'd Like the Opportunity
Tuesday, 23rd Jul 2019 22:43 by Darren Campbell

Blues manager Paul Lambert confirmed that midfielder Alan Judge has indicated that he wants to join QPR, who have made two bids for the Republic of Ireland international.

The West Londoners, who are managed by Judge’s former Brentford boss Mark Warburton, have had offers of £250,000 and £450,000 rebuffed by the Blues.

“Judge has spoken to me and I think he would like to go, it's his prerogative to say what he wants to do,” Lambert said.

“I don't know, I'm not sure with it. He's spoken to me and I guess it's over to Judgey and see what he wants to do and if he just let us know one way or another but I think he wants to. I really don't know at this minute.”

QPR have until the Championship transfer window closes on August 8th to continue their pursuit of 30-year-old Judge, who only signed a new two-year deal with the Blues in April.

Lambert has previously described the Dubliner as a key man and he says he will be an important player if he remains at Portman Road after the deadline.

“He has to be, there's no two ways,” the Town manager added. “If you're here, you have to play your absolute heart for the club, we have a big fan base behind us.

“But I think he's got to be clear in his own head. I think at the minute he's up and down with it. He's done well for us last season. I've had chats with him and he's indicated that he'd like the opportunity.”

No bluearmy_81 you have overlooked another mystery which of course is how someone who purports to be a psychologist with a Masters degree is unable to read a balance sheet, unable to read and understand EFL rules and insults others who have a different view point.
Now that is truly astounding and to think in a profession such as this someone can stoop so low.

Oh and by the way bluearmy_81 the winners of last years Championship had a minus net spend of£36mil and spent £1mil less than ITFC the runners up had a minus net spend of £5mil and spent £500k more than ITFC.
But hey what have facts got to with anything!!!

Guess you're right rabbit, silly me. What we really need to do is keep doing the same things, investing as much in the squad and selling our best players. It's worked really well over the last 6-8 years!! Thanks mate, that's me done I've seen the light!! 😀👍🏻😄

So it's worked, PR Paul's utterances have turned everyone against Judge so the Club and the Owner get an easy ride. Did the owner ask for the bid to be improved, we don't know? But what we do know is the prospect of big wages going out the door and money in the bin, what's not to like?

I am gratified that at least you can identify you were wrong on various comments bluearmy_81 however what have 6-8 years got to do with it?
ME has been the owner of ITFC for 11 years, and for the record no one has suggested we should keep doing the same, the fact is in level 3 they cannot do the same in respect of funding.
So as you rightly allude we need a new business model, so lets discuss the ramifications and thoughts on this going forward and be thankful that after all the errors there is still a team to support.
Sheff Utd, Huddersfield are good examples of what can be done, unfortunately throwing money at it is not possible due to the rules and even if it were there are no guarantees.

If anyone read my post of last week re. judge leaving this is exactly why I did not buy a season ticket for this year. It was obvious that something like this would occur, its the Ipswich way at the moment, get the season tickets in and then start to sell off players. I do realise that, unfortunately, this is my cynical way of looking at ITFC these days but ME makes me do so. This to my way of thinking is almost a fraudulent act.

What is the point of a contract of you can just walk away? Why even waste the legal fees to do it as they are obviously worthless. The rest of us don't get to walk from contracts simply because something better comes along. That is the whole point of a legally binding contract, to build stability during the span of the agreement. If he walks, it shows his true character and he doesn't fit here.

It shows that he wants to play in the championship, earn more money, and work closer to home.

Really no need to apologise for being cynical mib.

The vast majority of Ipswich fans that I know away from this site, ( and there are lots of us ) feel exactly the same way.

Disheartened.

If you want Judge to stay or go it is the same. He is showing no loyalty to a club that gave him a chance after a serious injury. I shake my head at the state of modern football. It is seriously flawed and cynical and that is a real shame. I am still positive about the season ahead and agree that we need players who will give 100%,rather than looking for a more lucrative move.

I felt that when he signed his new contract this was a massive signing for league one football. I remarked to a friend that I wondered whether he was signed just to sell more tickets and sure enough that is clearly the case. I am sceptical as to whether ME had a conversation with Judge outlining exactly this. ME has unfortunately sold our most saleable assets prior to the start of the season and too late for the club to find replacements. Last year was catastrophic and this year could be following suit. Iv3 got my ticket and will support PL and the team, but I wonder how long Lambert will put up with this behaviour. It really annoys me and I'm only a fan. ME needs to leave

f$ck QpR, cheeky bid of 450k aint worth a w@nk, nevwr gonna replace judges class with less than 3 or 4million in todays market, when the likes of donacian cost us the best part of 750k. if the club lets him go for peanuts thats it for me i wont be going this season. f@ck Judge hes signed a contract, if we dont get a decent offer decline it! simple as that!! players got too.much power thwese days and it never works in our favour, last year qe bought a load of sh!t and inflated prices!!! DO NOT SELl.to QPR evans grow a pair of balls

April 2019 "“I'm delighted because I've really enjoyed my time here and I'm looking forward to moving my family here and getting settled,” Judge said.

July 2019 Changed my mind, I'm off

As I say none of us know why he wants to leave could be money, the chance of playing at a higher level or maybe he was given assurances of us challenging this year and feels that's not going to be the case like a lot do on here. 🤷‍♂️ I'm gutted because for me he was one reason I renewed my season ticket as this was only the second time in over 30 years I've thought long and hard whether to or not. The last time was micks last season so the two times are under Evans ownership I've never been so bored of the propaganda coming from the owner downwards which clearly some fans believe. Look where we are and some of you here are happy with his excuses of “Ive made mistakes” yet when a manager makes mistakes everyone protests you really couldn't make it up!
Rabbit where are we with that link please we'd all like to see it??

You'll have a long wait Beattie.
It takes time for Rabbit himself to digest the rubbish he comes out with.
