Harry Steps Down
Friday, 26th Jul 2019 13:12

TWTD’s regular pre-match coverage will be lacking HarryFromBath’s Notes delving into opposition forums during the season ahead with the site legend stepping down from his role.

Having started as forum posts, Harry’s Notes, which provided an in-depth insight into the opposition courtesy of their own supporters, were elevated to the news pages in 2013 and became an important and well-loved aspect of TWTD with a number of Blues legends giving them praise over the years, in addition to innumerable fans.

"With the heaviest of hearts, I took the decision a few weeks ago to step away from writing the previews for the coming season,” Harry says.

“This is primarily due to a lack of time, as work and other personal commitments have made it impossible to continue what has become a labour of love.

“It is an absolute privilege to support Town, and it has been no less a privilege to piece together the pre-match Notes which were always designed to help add to everyone's enjoyment when watching us play.

“In TWTD we are privileged to have a truly wonderful independent website and it has been a joy to contribute to it. “I just want to say the most heartfelt thank-you to everyone for your kind, supportive and insightful comments over the years.

“I cannot thank Phil and Gav enough for their kind and insightful support when producing the Notes. One can never stop loving one’s football team, and I will still proudly be supporting us throughout our League One odyssey.”

Phil and Gav would like thank Harry for his years of work on the Notes and look forward to seeing him next time he is at Portman Road.

Fully understand Harry, can imagine it was a time consuming process as they were very well detailed articles. Always enjoyed them and they'll certainly be missed but only so many hours in a day. Thanks for all your past efforts. Cheers

Always a great read. My favourite part was other fans views on us, rather than their own team. Thanks

Oh Harry, I was really looking forward to your take on what the other League One fans thought of us. Such a shame not to have your great insight this season. All the best mate and thanks for all your great articles.

Thank you Harry. For many years I've visited TWTD on my lunch break and enjoyed your previews, which have become as much a part of the pre-match build up for me as seeing Bluey prance around the Portman Road turf.

I'm sure we all understand that life gets in the way, happy retirement and if I every meet you at a game I would love to buy you a pint as a thank you.

I'm not jesting when I say this but I'm genuinely sadder to hear this news than anything else lately, even us going down!

I genuinely enjoyed the reads and insights and looked forward to them, Harry. Just wont be the same build up without them, but fully understand the reasoning and my deep felt thanks for all the enjoyment and many years of service you've given us all.

All the best for the future and on a selfish note, I hope you miss doing it as much as we'll miss you doing it and you find the time to be able to return for next season.

Until then, enjoy your well deserved rest and we'll hopefully hear from you the next season ;-)

Oh no! You'll be hugely missed Harry, but completely understand, there are only so many hours in the day, & health & family rightly come first. The number of pints lined up for you at games must be getting dangerously high now! so I'll buy you one somewhere else if you ever visit North Yorkshire! All the best to you.
