Bialkowski Thanks Town Fans
Tuesday, 30th Jul 2019 19:43

Departing keeper Bartosz Bialkowski has paid tribute to Town supporters, his season-long loan move to Millwall having been confirmed this afternoon.

Bialkowski, a popular figure during his five years with the Blues, winning the Player of the Year award on three occasions, posted a message to fans on social media.

The Poland international's time as a Town player might not be over for good, of course, with his Blues contract having another year - plus another season's option - after his 2019/20 campaign at the Den.

What's the problem with the arrangement ? Bart has a great season at Millwall who will pay his wages, his loan expires at the end of the season, he either remains at Town or we sell him at a better market value. Sensible isn't it ? Why Bart thinks the move is in his interests only he or his agent can answer.

I hope Bart can reignite his career with the Lions. I think they will
Look after him well and I am sure their vociferous fans will take to him.
He has served us well with great professionalism and I am sure his leaving comments are genuine.
However we will never see him in our colours again.
We have two new keepers who I think will do very well for us. In all honesty we did need to change out both Bart and Gerks.

Millwall essentially pulled out of the deal because of a doubt over an old injury but happy to take him for free. What happens if he gets a career ending injury this season (pray not)? We dont get a penny. Not sure where this is a good deal for Twn other than getting him off the wage bill, whch seems a bit strange as we were told that all players have a 50% wage cut for relegation to league 1.

Wish Bart all the best though, top keeper, top guy.

Best of luck Bart - I will miss you, and hope one day you may return to us. Your saves kept us in a lot of games and will always remember that x
