Rowe and Woolfenden Return Against Shrews
Saturday, 31st Aug 2019 14:26

Danny Rowe and Luke Woolfenden return to an otherwise unchanged Town side taking on Shrewsbury at Portman Road this afternoon.

Rowe replaces Gwion Edwards on the right of midfield while Woolfenden is back at the heart of the defence for James Wilson with the two Welshmen dropping to the bench.

Kane-Vincent-Young makes his home debut, while Jon Nolan is back on the bench after his calf injury for the first time in League One against his old club.

Shrewsbury, who employ a 3-5-2 system with ex-Norwich frontman Steve Morison up front, make one change with midfielder Sean Goss starting and Ben Walker on the bench.

Town: Holy, Vincent-Young, Woolfenden, Chambers (c), Kenlock, Skuse, Downes, Rowe, Judge, Norwood, Jackson. Subs: Norris, Wilson, Edwards, Nolan, Dozzell, Georgiou, Huws.

Shrewsbury: O’Leary, Beckles, Ebanks-Landell, Pierre, Love, Edwards (c), Goss, Laurent, Giles, Whalley, Morison. Subs: Murphy, Golbourne, Walker, Vincelot, McCormick, Thompson, Udoh. Referee: Trevor Kettle (Rutland).

Surprised about team selection, this is not a team to be going 0-1 down to from a defensive error as Shrews will lock up shop and throw away the key. With their three at the back, would also have liked to see Georgiou start and exploit the width of the pitch. Will be supporting all the squad and hoping for solid performance and 3 points. Come on you blues!

I wonder why Lambert keeps changing the central defence?...thought Edwards played okay last weekend and might have kept his starting place.

Would also like to see Georgiou get at least 35/40 minutes in the second half. :)

Very close knob - i moved my daughter to yorkshire this weekend to start her new job and only got back two hours ago.

Don't worry, i will be there tuesday night with my rather poor "virgin" phone.
