Nolan Glad to Be Over Nightmare Injury
Monday, 2nd Sep 2019 16:58

Midfielder Jon Nolan is glad to be finally over the calf injury which saw him miss pre-season and the opening weeks of the campaign.

The 27-year-old returned as a 73rd-minute sub against his previous club Shrewsbury on Saturday and is expected to start tomorrow night’s Leasing.com Trophy game against Tottenham’s U21s at Portman Road.

“It’s been the longest few months of my life but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now,” said in an interview in Saturday’s match programme.

“It all stems from the injury I had last year, a calf problem on the left side.

"I knew it wasn’t right over the summer so I had a scan in Liverpool and that showed that I should have rested it over the last few weeks of last season.

“It was a ‘six-week injury’ so my season should have finished early but I tried to train on it.

"That meant I couldn’t do any work in the summer and then when I did start coming back, my right one went.

"It’s been an absolute nightmare but hopefully I’m over it now and can push on.”

Not a player i really rated when he first joined the club but has won me over makes the game look very easy a sign of a quality player also scores the odd goal looked very good when he came on on Saturday it will be hard to keep him out of the team when he's fully fit.

It is hard to believe that we have the centre midfield options of Nolan, Bishop, Huws, Dozzell & even Nydam to come into the reckoning for a possible starting XI place, when back up to full fitness at different stages of the season. As a Championship side that would be an embarrassment of riches, but for Division 1 it's positively mouth-watering.
(I'm giving Andre the benefit of the doubt with match fitness here).

Linkboy, have you always had an aversion to punctuation, or is it just on this occasion?

Dissboyitfc; don't write things like that ... if Marcus Evans is reading he might want to sell some of them!
