Fulham Bent Bid Refused?
Fulham Bent Bid Refused?
Friday, 2nd Aug 2002 16:06

Reports in London claim Fulham have made an unsuccessful attempt to take Marcus Bent to Craven Cottage in a cash-plus-Barry Hayles deal.

Ironically TWTD questioned the striker about transfer speculation earlier today, Bent saying he takes little notice of rumours which have surrounded him almost constantly throughout his career.

The latest Fulham story claims that Jean Tigana's side have had a bid of £2 million-plus-Barry Hayles turned down by the Blues.

George Burley is said to have snubbed the offer as Town are keen to bring in cash for any out-going players.

Earlier in the week Burley denied a previous report which claimed that Fulham had offered £5 million bid for the striker.

Hayles is understood to be surplus to Tigana's requirements due to disciplinary problems, despite scoring 12 goals last season.

The Cottagers have previously been linked with Matt Holland, Hermann Hreidarsson and Jermaine Wright this summer.
