ITFC Women Win Top of Table Clash Sunday, 29th Sep 2019 17:59 ITFC Women completed a perfect Ipswich sporting weekend by beating leaders Billericay Town Ladies 2-1 at the Goldstar Ground, Felixstowe this afternoon to go top of FAWNL South East Division One. After the men’s first team’s 4-1 victory over Tranmere, the U18s’ 3-1 defeat of Cardiff and the Ipswich Witches’ play-off semi-final success over Poole Pirates yesterday, the Tractor Girls’ win draws them level on points, goal difference and goals scored with the Essex side but are top of the table on head-to-head results. Natasha Thomas gave the Blues the lead in the 28th minute after Paige Peake had hit the bar and Peake herself made it 2-0 five minutes before half-time direct from a corner. Billericay pulled a goal back in the 63rd minute but their hopes of getting back on terms were dealt a blow five minutes from time when they were reduced to 10 for a second bookable offence. ITFC Women host Royston Town in the second qualifying round of the Women's FA Cup next Sunday (Goldstar Ground, KO 2pm). Town: Runnacles, Wilson, Egan, Thomas (Biggs 68), Crump (c), King (Wakefield 57), Cossey, Cooper, Lafayette, Peake, Peskett (Grey 78). Subs: Pannifer, Hubbard. Att: 247.
