Judge Unused Sub as Ireland Draw

Blues midfielder Alan Judge was an unused sub as the Republic of Ireland drew 0-0 with Georgia in a Euro 2020 qualifier in Tbilisi this afternoon.

Judge will hope to win his ninth cap when Mick McCarthy’s side face Switzerland in Geneva in another qualifier on Tuesday.

midastouch added 16:51 - Oct 12 0-0 with Georgia, be careful what you wish for! They are still top of the group but Denmark have one game in hand and Switzerland have two so still all to play for. Mick isn't going to be able to 0-0 draw his way through the group. Lucky Mick isn't a shop keeper as he'd shut up shop after just 10 or 20 minutes of trade.

Ireland's next two remaining qualifying fixtures are the 15th of October away to Switzerland and then at home to Denmark on the 18th November. If they lose to Switzerland it means they might have to go for it more at home against Denmark, although we know that didn't work out.

As much as I like having a bit of a joke and a laugh about Mick's tactics I have to say I was with them all the way when Matt Holland was playing for Ireland when they eventually lost to Spain on penalty kicks in the 2002 World Cup. That was arguably their finest hour. Can't see them doing anything like that again but I guess you can never say never in football!

H1960 added 19:29 - Oct 12 I have just read a report on the game, apparently it was dire, however Mick was delighted with the point and would have taken it at the start, "Georgia are a good side"........sound familiar?......thank God he is gone and we have got our club back
