ITFC Women Draw Canaries in FA Cup
Wednesday, 16th Oct 2019 22:56

Ipswich Town Women will host deadly rivals Norwich City in the third qualifying round of the Women’s FA Cup.

The tie will be played at a venue yet to be confirmed on Sunday 27th October.

The Tractor Girls hammered Royston Town 7-0 in their second qualifying round tie at Playford Road on Sunday, while Norwich progressed after defeating Cambridge United 3-2 at home.

In first league derby of the campaign in September, the Blues beat the Canaries 4-1 at the Goldstar Ground, Felixstowe.

ITFC Women are next in action on Sunday when they face Stevenage in the FAWNL Plate at the Goldstar Ground (KO 2pm).

Meanwhile, the U21s were beaten 3-1 by Reading Women at Playford Road this afternoon, Sophie Peskett scoring for Town.

'...deadly rivals', come on TWTD, you were asking for people to calm down on the Forum today and you come up with that in your opening paragraph. With everything that's been happening this week we could do with some measured writing, not sensationalism.
And would it be right to say Paul Lambert treated you with contempt when you asked your questions at the end of the Accrington press conference. Is there an issue?

At this level, Norwich are just local rivals, but to beat them is a must, to move on to greater things. Onwards and upwards for all our Ipswich Town teams.

How great it would be if this was switched to Portnan Road. Can this be looked into ?

Wind your neck in Carberry, if you can't read the words 'deadly rivalry' without racially abusing or attacking someone then the TWTD forum is the least of your worries!

Don't think you got the context Fat Boy. I'm suggesting that kind of sensationalist hype is unhelpful when you need this site to have some reasonable exchanges and intelligent observation. Your comments prove my point.

...and yet the only reaction to it was your own. It is hyperbole but no one wants to read bland statements of fact in the stories on here. 99.9% of the time, any argument on here is not caused by the style of writing (in fact this is basically that 0.01% right here) and 99.8% of the time the arguments have very little to do with the subject matter of the story itself. If you would like a little respect shared around then you might want to take another look at your little jibe about the presser.

Fat Boy, my issue is the language used was inappropriate, it doesn't have to be bland but shouldn't be hyped. And my 'little jibe' was a serious point - are the TWTD reporters being treated differently to the rest of the press? It certainly looks like it, so what is the problem? Do you have an issue with that question?
