Jackson in Team of the Week
Tuesday, 29th Oct 2019 10:14

Town striker Kayden Jackson has been named in the Sky Bet EFL Team of the Week for his display in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Southend.

Jackson netted his seventh goal of the season and also provided assists for James Norwood’s earlier brace, which also took his total for the campaign to seven.

After the game manager Paul Lambert had praise for his strike pair: “I thought they were excellent, I thought they were a handful all game. As a pair they were excellent together. They complement each other really well and their finishing I think is different class.

“Norwood’s finishing was brilliant, right and left foot, and Kayden I think is really, really sharp at the minute. Really happy with the two of them.”

Well deserved! Congrats Kayden. 7 goals and 4 assists for a striker in October is no mean feat. Has really come into his own this year.

Well done Kayden, certainly proved me wrong from last season. You and Norwood have got a really good partnership going there.

Most improved player from last season, when he was all too often being asked to play as a lone striker. That clearly doesn't suit his game, but in a pair he looks a much better player.

Tremendous and well deserved.
I got a lot of stick when I started Jackson could be terrific this season in comparison to Ellis who I thought had one of the worst first touches I've seen on ipswich striker in recent memory.

a few good players in that team. Dunkley won't be at Wigan long.. If our Jackson keeps improving we will stand half a chance of promotion

Having a much improved season, and well deserved based on what I can remember from Saturday at Roots Hall !

However, he is not able to play as a sole striker and hopefully PL has learned that lesson now. Be interesting to see how things shake up when Sears is fit....com on Freddie, get involved !
