Millwall boss Gary Rowett says he knows nothing of rumours suggesting the Blues could recall keeper Bartosz Bialkowski from his loan in January.

“I haven’t heard anything like that at all,” Rowett told London News Online. “There are certain things in the agreement that I’m aware of. It’s a case of seeing what happens.

“It is what it is. We don’t want to lose Bart — he’s a very, very good player. He’s performed very, very well for us. But at the same time we also have to have a plan in case something happens in that sense.

“Our intention is that hopefully he is here as our goalkeeper — because he’s been great — and the lads love him as well.”

Rowett made similar comments earlier this month when there were claims that Town might recall Bialkowski in January and sell him to another party and admitted managers always plan for a “worst-case scenario”.

Recalling Bialkowski in order to sell him would seem the only reason why the Blues would recall the Polish international, who joined Millwall on a season-long loan in July, a permanent £900,000 move having broken down the previous month due to concerns regarding the 32-year-old’s knee.

Bialkowski, who signed lucrative new terms almost certainly making him the Blues' highest-paid player in July 2018, is contracted until the summer of 2021 with Town having an option for a further season.

SouperJim added 10:25 - Nov 27 There have also been noises about Will Norris being recalled and that Lambert may have recently given him a spell in the side simply to placate Wolves. Sounds like we're covering our bases and not totally beyond the realms of possibility that we might recall Bart if Norris goes back.

When we signed him on loan from Wolves I'm sure it was everyone's intention that he would be Number 1 this season. We then signed Holy and he started at Burton has been very solid all season. This has then restricted Norris to cup games and I'm certain Wolves have expressed their concerns and that is why he has played recently. I'm guessing it's too little too late and Wolves have told us they will recall him in January. That my friends is why I believe we will in turn recall Bart.

Bluefox added 11:32 - Nov 27 West Ham are apparently urgently looking for a new keeper. Reports suggest Bart has been playing well, so he might well be on their radar. Town would recall him and then sell him for a significant fee. We have the best defensive record in the league, so if there is any spare cash, it would more likely to be spent on bringing in new outfield players in January rather than bringing Bart back.

Radlett_blue added 13:05 - Nov 27 Well, Bart seems to have recovered his form at Millwall, so we are sensible in keeping our options open. Wolves will almost certainly recall Norris if he isn't getting games so then Bart could return or we need another keeper. We could also try to sell Bart in January. Millwall's own fault for not signing him permanently on a fairly dubious pretext.

Lambert's interview last night didn't give me confidence that he was here to stay at all, or b) Town are essentially blackmailing Millwall to make the move permanent.
