Town and Coventry Ball 48 in Tonight's FA Cup Draw Monday, 2nd Dec 2019 11:56 Town and Coventry City will be ball number 48 in this evening FA Cup round three draw, the Blues and Sky Blues having drawn 1-1 at St Andrew’s yesterday.
The replay is expected to be played at Portman Road on Tuesday 10th December with confirmation likely at some point today.
The draw for round three takes place at the Etihad Stadium at 7pm live on BBC Two and the iPlayer when former Arsenal captain Tony Adams and ex-Manchester City defender Micah Richards will be pulling the balls from the bowl.
The third round sees Premier League and Championship clubs enter the competition and manager Paul Lambert is hoping the Blues are paired with a top name.
"If we’re fortunate to get through we might just get one of the big ones, which I think would be great for everybody concerned, the fans, the players, the whole club,” he said following yesterday's match.
Third round ties will take place over the weekend of January 4th. Town’s scheduled league game for that day is already set to be postponed as Fleetwood, who were due to visit Portman Road that afternoon, are through to round three.
The last time Town weren't involved in round three of the FA Cup, which they won for the only time in 1978, was in the 1955/56 season when they were defeated 3-1 away by Peterborough United at the first-round stage.

A top club at home for the fans, or a top one away for the balance sheet, and a bit of money for the squad to push for automatic promotion. Not Exeter City or Hartlepool United away as it's too ruddy far. What's the betting we get Fleetwood ? (all assuming we beat Coventry) | | |
