Judge: Form Will Turn Soon
Wednesday, 8th Jan 2020 10:12

Midfielder Alan Judge is confident Town’s form will turn soon with the performance in the 1-1 draw away against leaders Wycombe on New Year’s Day something to build on.

The Blues are without a victory over 90 minutes in 12 games in all competitions, while their winless run in League One is eight - five draws and three defeats. Town, who last won in the league at Rochdale on November 5th, are down to fifth in the table.

"You’re always going to get hit with challenges. That’s what football is - ups and downs," the Irish international told iFollow Ipswich.

"There was a bit of improvement last week at Wycombe, hopefully it’s something to build on.

"We have to keep going. I’ve been at clubs where I’ve had this before and the only way you get over it is by working hard. On Saturday [when Accrington Stanley visit Portman Road], hopefully we’ll be able to turn it around.

"We’re still fifth. There’s plenty to play for. I’d rather have the blip now than March or April. Obviously it’s a longer blip than we would’ve liked. I believe it will turn soon."

By logic things couldn't get any worse... or could they? :-)

I actually believe we will beat Accrington and start to get back on track.
All the players can now get cup competitions out of their mind and focus on the important task ahead.
It's time for the players to put their money where their mouth is.

The regular critics will no doubt say heard it all before. Yes, we have but if you support a team you support it through rough times. We are definitely one of the best equipped teams in this league but our momentum was lost through cup games and an unsettled team. There were sound reasons for rotating players but from now we must play the best and most creative team. Keep the faith.

When will Judge's form turn? (though played slightly better at Wycombe)...whatever we're paying him and by the sounds of it one of our higher earners probably too much.

bert what utter rubbish. The manager is crap and most of the players are poor. It is a mystery to lambert himself how we ever were 4 points clear. In the games I have seen we are a poor league 1 team.

Completely agree with some of the comments regarding judge and the rotation however he's not a winger or wide player, still don't understand why we don't play 4-2-3-1 with downes and huws deeper, Judge playing off Norwood in the 10 role and 2 wide players be it sears or edwards who can go and play

Bert - spot on buddy, any idiot can get behind the team when they're playing well, but the proper fans support the players through the difficult times too. Nobody is happy with our current run of form, but it's clear the players are hurting too. They desperately need our support at the minute to help them turn this around, not a load of armchair managers piling on the pressure.

Judge, Chambers, Skuse, Nsiala. There's the problem right there.

Would be nice if he found some form whilst he is about it.

@Bert - not sure that critising the manager and some of the players amounts to 'not supporting the team' but instead I see it as voicing our concerns and frustrations... aka... that's what true supporters do, because we care! Also, I don't agree that there were sound reasons for rotating the squad as much as PL has done. After what happened last season, this current winless run is hurting everyone much more than it probably should be.

@Lathers - I don't disagree with your general comments. Criticism is valid but there are many posters who do so in such a negative and personal way that it makes me wonder if they really want the team and club to perform well.

It's now time to put out the best available 11. Chambers is ok in this division except when he is up against a quick forward such as Walker at Lincoln. Agree we don't need Downs as well as Skuse. Interesting that we have 2 revenge games this month. Accrington & Lincoln

I still believe that we can turn it around, but the likes of Judge & co need to up their game. It's all well and good continually spouting off but they need to start delivering on the pitch. Despite our recent ‘blip' I'm looking forward to Saturdays game and that in itself is a huge positive compared to previous seasons.

I thought we would beat Gillingham but we couldn't even manage that. I'd like to see Sears and Keane start up top with Bishop,Downes and Dozzell in centre midfield. I also believe Lambert should play proper full backs not Edwards and Garbutt. I'd play Kenlock or Clements and push Garbutt into left midfield. Cotter from what I've seen at u23 level deserves another chance. Wolfie and a n other centre backs. Again I'd probably gamble with Ndaba ahead of Chambo

We won't beat Accrington. We'll be playing the 13th different team in 13 games.
Won't win again this season while Lambert is still manager.
