Bolton Targeting Nsiala Move
Wednesday, 8th Jan 2020 14:47

TWTD understands that Bolton Wanderers are eyeing a permanent move for Blues central defender Toto Nsiala.

Nsiala, 27, has been in and out of the Town side in recent weeks having recovered from the hamstring injury he suffered in pre-season.

The Kinshasa-born DR Congo international, who grew up in Liverpool, joined the Blues from Shrewsbury in the summer of 2018 in a double deal with Jon Nolan, following their former Shrews manager Paul Hurst to Portman Road.

In total Nsiala, who is contracted to Town until the summer of 2021 with the club having an option for a further season, has made 28 starts and five sub appearances for the Blues, scoring once.

If Nsiala’s departure for the Trotters is confirmed, it is likely to lead to further speculation that the Blues could look to re-sign former central defender Tommy Smith, who is continuing to train with the U23s at Playford Road having left the Colorado Rapids during the MLS close season.

Sorry but this guy is dross!

He's a red card waiting to happen in every game and whatever we paid for him it was too much. What intrigues me though is why Lambert has played him ahead of Wilson in important games.
OK Wilson's not great but he's streets ahead of Nsiala.

RegencyBlue - I agree, how in anyway shape or form, does Lambert pick nsiala ahead of wilson? Baffles me!

If we are prepared to let him go why has Lambert been picking him another example of Lambert's brilliant management.

Don't post often but just have to comment on this. This player is just not good enough and having watched his woefulness at Exeter on Saturday I'm overjoyed that he might be going.
Watching us struggle on Saturday really emphasised where we are - at a very low point. Having watched my first Town game in 1969 it's hard to accept the situation we are in. Love to see us turn it around, but fear we might not escape this division this season. Hope PL and the players can rally and prove me wrong.

Hmmmm what cryptic eyesight-related words, often quoted words btw, was it now that philosopher Desiderius Erasmus so famously uttered?

Oh I believe I remember it correctly now!:

"In the land of the blind... Toto Nsiala is a great & MUST-HAVE football player"

:-) lol (-:

(PS: Sarcasm aside, nothing personal so best of luck with your career elsewhere Toto)

Having paid somewhere near the £1 million mark for Toto, then this is likely to be a loan or a free transfer to get his wages off the books as I would imagine Bolton have little spare cash for transfer fees. He did have a good season at Shrewsbury and at 6ft 4 in does give us height in both boxes. But it is fair to say he does look too risky of an option with his clumsiness, just awaiting another penalty or sending off to happen. I get the impression that the rest of the defence feels nervous when Toto is in the back four especially when as a right footer he is being played on the left (perhaps the main issue). Perhaps a loan move will just rebuild his confidence and allow him to return next season a more assured defender.

Shame really thought he was gonna be the man for us at the back this season. Got injured pre season & just hasn't worked out for him. Bloody brilliant news if we re signed Smith it would be the best news I've heard in ages. He is exactly what we need at the back. We have never replaced him!!

We NEED a couple of decent players [at least two ,but that would be ''dream on'' ] if Evans is going to wait till he has signed off our dead wood first we will prob miss the boat, and end up with nothing or lame dregs, who with our history ,will take rest of season getting fit . Some things at ITFC just dont change.

I think there is a player in there somewhere and I think he is an honest and committed footballer.

Guess we will let him go for nothing so this would be another financial loss to club which we can not afford.

@Dingus

I was asked - by rather strong popular demand! - to change my name (the consensus apparently being that I couldn't merrily go on with @MickZZzzTactics... eh with Mick not around anymore?!) remember?

Well obviously you DON'T!!! Alas I never tried to "hide" ...basically since I have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of or hide from, particular on this breathtaking (not!) fan site. And FYUI downvotes, silly or otherwise, don't bother me the slightest!

As everybody else here you are perfectly entitled to your personal views, HOWEVER I just don't understand your seemingly uncontrollable urge to at regular intervals smear ME & my posts as both being quote "rubbish" or worse, and this in a unmistakable antagonistic & vitriolic fashion (and as far as I've noticed I'm just about the only one you opt to do this with).

My often sarcastically delivered viewpoints are in essence much the same as a substantial number of other members here... I simply choose to most often phrase, formulate or meme depict them somewhat differently.

There are several quite "innocent" reasons for me doing this. So optionally you can read the following inserted/bracketed stuff for clarification of these reasons, worthwhile for a better understanding, but of course PLEASE skip by it if you as expected and as usually can't wrap your head around that many lines in a post lol!

---------------

(Sometimes this could be about simple diversity (trying not to make the content of one's post sound more or less like an exact copy of 10+ others already posted), other times is me gently opposing the on occasions either way too serious / way too credulous tone or reaction to certain events, aye even just rumor-based event or blatantly pure PR ass-stunts here on TWTD. And on other times again it's about making my jester-like choice of words, insincerely meant or not, come across as what is commonly known as being of just a tiny little bit Better/Good Taste. This last personal rule of thumb doesn't include the owner & the manager though, whom I for the umpteenth year running find unbelievably & indefensibly incompetent & clueless etc. and thus fair game...

...but it does govern just about 99.99 % of the players not named Chambers (but even Mr. Undroppable himself I've stopped going after this season) -- unworthy of their salary & contract as some of them unequivocally is and have been through the years -- so for instance I will not succumb to write "Nsiala is a freakin' disaster on a football field", "Nsiala is sheeeeit" or "Nsiala is the worst defender I've ever seen in the shirt" or similar direct or implied ultra rude stuff ... thus instead I came up with a new jolly take on the famous quote "I the land of the blind..." especially fitting imho as even I felt compelled to voice that I can't quite grasp what anybody scouting us have "SEEN" in calamity inclined Mr. Nsiala & his form as a Town player, causing them to want him?! )

---------------

Sorry you didn't like this lighthearted wording above, but again why do you @Dingus feel the need to AGAIN tell the whole world you vehemently don't like me and my style of prose & memes??? I certainly haven't forgotten!!! Including your previous all-serious personal attacks here on TWTD.

1) Simply block my post / scroll by them

2) Or better just do like @Rabbitt! lol i.e. let that fabulous O.C.D.D. (Obsessive Compulsive DOWNVOTING Disorder) pointedly inform me what little you think of me & my posts .........without, exactly as @Rabbitt, as much as any accompanying ATTEMPT of elaborating what *factually* it is in said posts that is quote "rubbish", aye aside then from you 2 being largely bereft of a "Sense of Humor" imho and them posts simply sometimes having some unorthodox or pure playfully constructed prose.
