Cambridge Boss: El Mizouni Super Talented
Thursday, 5th Mar 2020 13:56

Cambridge United interim head coach Mark Bonner says “super talented” Blues midfielder Idris El Mizouni, whose loan with the U’s was curtailed by a media ligament injury earlier this week, will go on to have a really good career.

"He's super talented, and I think people saw that," Bonner told Cambridgeshire Live. "He didn't play all of every game, but people will remember the freekick in Scunthorpe as a highlight.

"I felt he was just getting settled with us. I spoke to him earlier in the week and told him that he does something that is really important for young players: he's talented but he mixes it with work-ethic and humility, and that's quite a good lesson for lots of our younger players as well. He's a really talented boy and I think he will have a really good career.”

The 19-year-old, who is expected to be fit for pre-season, suffered the knee injury during the U’s 2-1 League Two defeat to Carlisle at the Abbey Stadium last Saturday.

Tunisia international El Mizouni made five starts and two sub appearances for Cambridge, scoring once, having joined them on a half-season loan in January."

Very nice comments. Very good to hear that his work ethic is very good as it is important for young kids to have that natural hunger.

Think we should be looking to get more kids to Cambridge, a good level and a good club for development.

It's alright. We've got Cole Skuse pottering about scoring one goal every 8 seasons instead.

Obviously should of been playing more regularly for us this season. His talent was there for all to see. Hopefully we get to see him playing regularly for us next season.

We,ll be playing at the same level the season after next! Unless we ship out the deadwood ie Chambers, Skuse, Kenlock this club is doomed to the lower leagues. We were sh!the last year and kept most of that team, how does anyone expect that shower to get promoted & if the did then what? Luton won league one easily last term playing nice football and look where they are now

Downes and the Wolf both had long spells on loan and both now in the first team so apparently it did them good.

Shouldn't have been loaned out in my opinion. He was running riot in the u23's and earned a regular spot in our squad.

A very nice appraisal of the young man Mr Bonner shame he hasn't previously been given game time here to live up to it.

sums it up really ,we desperately need some decent players ,we get one and ship him out on loan , He could have been getting time in off the bench and prob out perform some of the regular wasters . Never mind his tallent will take him on in his career hopefully , Good luck to him.

Playing regularly on loan is always good for a young player .Minutes on the pitch is what counts not sitting on the bench . Tend to think some will find fault with anything that the club try and do . Dobra has not featured much some have been asking why he did not go out on loan . Dammed if you do dammed if you don't springs to mind . Get back soon Idris .

I'm sorry to say this but I rather think our squad is now likely to shrink much over the coming seasons that we won't be in a position to be loaning players out. Players like Dobra and IEM will be straight in our first team as soon as they are deemed good enough. Our future will be Evan's just keeping the club alive and the academy topped up by a few has beens.

Idris is an exciting young talent and sounds a grounded young man.

Really gutted to hear of his injury, so hope for a speedy recovery, whilst it would be wrong to describe him as a carbon copy of Teddy Bishop, I am confident he will have a more successful career than the Tedster and score far more goals. Whilst he might not be quite ready next season to make a regular start I believe he will have an impact even if introduced from the bench.

Must figure regularly in our 18 man squad next season and feel he will offer far more than Judge. Don't get me wrong I don't think Judgey can be criticised for any lack of effort as he always gives it his all and more, it just hasn't worked for him here at Town and you get the feeling the harder he tries the worst he performances appear. But this does mean we have to trim the squad to allow some of our talented youngsters space and opportunity to develop and engage on the bigger stage.

Think El Miz, Dobs, Lankester and Nydam (praying a full recovery from a horrific injury) can play a big. The only danger is if Neil Warnock ends up with the reins.
