Judge Out for the Rest of the Season
Wednesday, 11th Mar 2020 18:07

Blues midfielder Alan Judge has been ruled out for the remainder of the season having suffered a stress fracture to a metatarsal in his right foot.

The 31-year-old picked up the injury in training on Tuesday and subsequently underwent a scan which revealed a fracture.

“Alan injured his right foot in training and has had scans which have shown a stress fracture to his third metatarsal,” physio Matt Byard told the club site.

“He will be in a boot for two to three weeks and you are looking at a likely recovery time of six to eight weeks, which means he’s out for the rest of the season in all likelihood.”

Judge, who is contracted to Town until the summer of 2021 with an option for a further season, will also miss the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2020 play-off semi-final against Slovakia later this month but it is anticipated that the Dubliner would be fit for the finals in June if former Blues boss Mick McCarthy’s side qualify.

The former Brentford man, who joined the Blues from the Bees for a nominal fee in January 2019, has made 25 starts and nine sub appearances this season, scoring four times.

My fear is that over the summer any player for which we receive a half decent offer will be sold. If a club comes in for Judge he will go. We will be left with the kids and the senior players that no-one else wants.

Haha haha... and you numbskulls still defend players who clearly don't want to be here... half the reason I will no longer attend PR is Marcus Evans the other 50% is you pathetic people who can't see and accept our football club is run by a individual who has no care and rips you off every week and players who don't care for this club!! Judge has had numerous chances this season in his preferred role and done p1ss all!! All the rubbish at the start of the season... you are paid very well by this football club and we saved your career... keep going happy clappy Len 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

many people think judge played his last game for us??. Wonder how many more of our superstars will be here next season.don't think Evans will be ordering a new yacht on the player he sells this summer.

Another who has been average at best & won't be missed.

Time to start building around the kids - if we can keep them fit 🙄

Tractorboy1985 are you so inept that you think the club didn't have his foot x-rayed.
This site is all about sharing opinions, but please try engaging your brain before you hit the keyboard. We are all suffering watching what in all honesty has been a very disjointed season, again it's been an injury ravaged year, are many other clubs in the same boat?
Has this been the reason that Lambert has been making so many changes to the line up to try and counteract and offset the effect is stress on the players bodies.
None of us know how many players are being asked to play on whilst carrying niggling injuries.

After this season capitulation anyone over the age of 23 should be removed from the club.

He's not had the best of times re his family problems and that takes it's toll and is more important than anything(QPR didn't help)little wonder his head was all over the place there is still a very good player in that body but it's been seen all to rarely this season.

Tractorboy1985 quick to judge and label others, zero insight as usual. Nobody has been more critical of Alan Judge this season than the player himself.

my uneducated guess is there will soon be no" rest of season "because of the corona virus pandemic.

That's just put the icing on the cake then!!
What a terrible season all round, another injury to a top player which won't help us at all.
This club is truly cursed with the injuries we get, think the club is cursed anyway!!

Speedy recovery Alan and as Blueboy said he was hardly ever played in his best position. One of the posters said he thought we'd rip up this league. That's deluded. I said at start of season we'd finish mid table and that about right for this squad.

Oh well Jackson will be able to step in without Lambo offending anyone else by dropping them.

Interesting isn't it that most people are saying “ get Dobra in”(which I fully concur with ). Not many if any, saying get Dozzell in! How times have changed for him at the Club. He's getting left behind isn't he .

Those of you saying he's played his last game for us, remember, at this club, 31 is the prime of your career.

brendenward35 - good post, totally agree with you - some of our so called supporters are a disgrace to the Club. But, they are what they are.

In fact I would say some ‘so called' supporters are a disgrace to the very name :- IPSWICH TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB.
I hope they find it within themselves to hang their heads in shame.

Hahaha.... keep feeding Evans pockets you f ing w@nkers! Done with you lot anyway!!! Happy clappy tools!!! Good luck @ mark beck trying to get this lot on side! Seem to be brain washed by Evans!! If you want my season ticket you're more than welcome... I watch @ Ipswich fanzone every week and I apologise I don't know you but I've seen you floating around (lad with the ginger hair who ash always does a half time chat with) you are correct by labelling this lot on TWTD as a bunch of f ing losers!! If I can bother to attend a game I'll give you a little kiss.... on the same wave length fella!! This site is a joke and the fans are happy to sit back and watch Marcus Evans destroy this club!! Bye w@nkers!!!

No loss...sadly my reservations about him after he broke his leg and seeing him play for Brentford early last season have come true, he generally has been a shadow of the player he has been playing in position or out of. Wish him a speedy recovery but can't see him playing here anymore.
