Town are close to announcing rebate options for season ticket and matchday ticket holders for the unplayed games from the end of the 2019/20 season.

The Blues still had five matches left to play at home plus three away when the campaign was suspended on March 13th and eventually ended early and settled on points per game a fortnight ago.

In April, owner Marcus Evans said that he expected a range of options to be offered to fans if the season wasn't completed.

"The club will obviously recompense season ticket holders in some way," he said.

"This has yet to be finalised and we would expect to take the lead from the EFL but refunds, complimentary tickets and/or credit towards future tickets for 2020/21 would be the most likely options."""

Town should announce how they will be dealing with match tickets for the outstanding home and away matches later this week when it’s expected the options put to fans will include full refunds or credits towards future games.

Their plans for season ticket holders are set to be announced at the start of July when we understand the compensation options are likely to include full refunds, the cash going towards future season tickets and credits on other club purchases.

The delay to July is largely caused by the club switching to a new ticketing platform, SeatGeek, from July 1st which requires the move of their ticketing database.

Additionally, most of the club’s off-field staff are currently on furlough, however, from July the scheme changes and they will working part-time and able to field queries from fans regarding issues relating to season ticket rebates.

Town are believed to be facing higher rebates than any other club in League One having had five home games left to play - more than most other clubs - and with 2019/20 season ticket numbers approaching 12,000. It’s understood refunding everyone in full would cost somewhere between £800,000 and £1 million.

uefa1981 added 15:33 - Jun 22 I expect it to offer all sorts of options in helping ITFC, the academy and/or money off season ticket 20/21. Think i'll go for refund and then go again when we know more regarding players, games restarts etc. Marcus still has his £750 m fortune to play with so i'm sure he will be ok.

Pencilpete added 15:34 - Jun 22 I'd be happy for the club to keep my money IF we were given some kind of assurance that the cash would be used to strengthen the team, but if it's just going to be swallowed in 'running the club' then i'd rather have it back. it's time Mr Evans made a statement of intent to show us he's serious about getting us out of the 15 year slump we're on and not just treading water and ticking over. We've heard alot of words from him, Lee O'Neill, Paul Lambert and the players about we've got to do this and that and to be honest it's boring and the only way i'd even remotely believe any of it is if i'd taken a sedative first. Lets forget the words and have some decisive action

Bert added 15:35 - Jun 22 If the options rehearsed here are true then that's fair enough. The decision what to do is then for each person to consider. For those who suffered financially because of COVID a refund is probably going to be a favourable option. For others a credit towards a future season helps the season ticket holder and the club.

kizaitfc added 15:45 - Jun 22 I fear due to our recent performances and many people's opinion on Evans, a significant number will be opting for a refund. Fans have been pumping money into this club though tickets and merchandise for years with little reward, I understand he also pumps money in each year but as stated in a post above he is a multi millionaire, almost billionaire. Personally I would like my money to go back into the club somehow possibly the bet option being a donation with a free home shirt for next season.

Cakeman added 16:59 - Jun 22 I could understand people not wanting their money back if ITFC was a local village or community team that do not employ people but ITFC is a business. There is no way I would say to the club you can keep my money. If any other business such as theatres could not put a show on I would request a full refund. ITFC is no different. I can understand those who maybe take the option of putting the refund to future season ticket purchases, however who's to say there will still be a club in a couple of years time? These are dire times for all clubs outside the premier and championship.

cat added 17:51 - Jun 22 Fair play to the club on this one, but to have to pay back (potentially) something in the region of 1m is a big ask. Let's hope the incentive's are appealing enough to prevent this. The big fear before last season was if it went tits then all the positives such as reconnecting, decent attendances etc would fall away. From a personal point of view attending games (even in the poorest periods) was generally a much improved experience. We all have grievances with the club, whether it's with Evans, Lambert, Chambers or Skuse (full house in my case) it's completely understandable but the club has to come first, more so in three more difficult times. Roll up, Roll up..........😂

oldegold added 08:40 - Jun 23 Given the current state of the club, a full refund of outstanding games has to be the 1st option given that in a business context, it would come automatically to do so. Seeing as we have an unambitious president, it would be incumbent on him to issue a statement of intent before imploring Town supporters to renew as we are sinking fast and going nowhere under his helm. To reflect upon the fact that he works in communications..... his "style" of contact with the supporters has always left a lot to be desired and been found wanting.

Robert_Garrett added 10:08 - Jun 23 I am a season ticket holder at Vfl Osnabrück in the German 2 Bundesliga. We have just donated our rebates back to the club with a 10% going to local football. The last home game against Holstein Kiel (4-1) held behind locked doors was a 5 Euro ticket sell out. The ticket can be used as a five euro rebate to buy fan articles when the club shop re-opens. Next seasons tickets will be rebated to those who have just made the donation. You don't lose out on your hard earned money its just pushed into the future.
