Golf Club Launch Investigation Into Dyer Racist Abuse Allegation
Saturday, 1st Aug 2020 16:58

Hintlesham Golf Club have issued a statement in which they say they have opened an investigation into the allegation that racist comments were made regarding former Blues midfielder and academy coach Kieron Dyer and that any member found to have engaged in such abuse will have their membership terminated.

Dyer, 41, resigned his membership from the club after the racial slurs were heard in the bar by his playing partner and a number of other people after the ex-England man had left following a round on Friday 24th July.

Having initially refused to comment having been approached by TWTD and a number of other media outlets, Hintlesham Golf Club released a statement earlier today.

“Following reports of an alleged racist abuse against Kieron Dyer, a respected member of the club, we have commenced an investigation into the incident," the statement reads.

“Hintlesham Golf Club will not tolerate racial abuse or any similar abuse at the club. Any member found to be involved in such action will have their membership immediately terminated.

“If such action is committed by a guest at the club they will be banned from returning.

“We pride ourselves as being a friendly and welcoming club and such action is not compatible with our principles.”

Let me try and educate you Seablu so you have my background (especially as you appear to be so interested in me).

I'm a 46 year old Army veteran who served with the Brigade of Gurkhas in conflicts such as Kosovo where I witnessed at first hand hatred, racism and torture in a 6 month tour that thankfully most won't experience in a lifetime. In fact it's probably fair to say that for 12 years I, (alongside many others ) helped provide the very freedom that you take for granted to spout your rubbish that you read on google and the likes. Our PM is anything but racist, he is the democratically elected PM who in my day earnt the respect to lead this country until voted otherwise.

It's fair to say that having served with the Brigade, that I'm not in any way racist myself, in fact I deplore those who are and would never hesitate to stand up to anyone who shows any examples of it. All that said however, I'm growing tired of supposed do gooders who are looking to try and cause unrest and disruption with wildly inaccurate statements like you have above.

Now as I have said twice already today, grow up and move on!

Thanks for educating me Wooly.
Not in the slightest bit interested or impressed regarding your background.
Care to answer the question now?

Absolutely spot on, Wooly 74. Respect to you, sir, for doing your bit and sharing your experience.

As for the comment asking for this conversation to be stopped, I totally agree. I never wanted to get involved in the first place but I won't put up with sh1t comments from a keyboard social justice warrior and I WILL NOT be accused of being a racist when I abhor racism of ANY kind. Accusing people of being racist when they are not just because it suits a warped argument is almost as vile as racism itself.

Ah DaGremloid's back.
If you ‘abhor racism of any kind' those two questions shouldn't be too much of a struggle for you really.
If you didn't want to get involved In the first place you shouldn't have piped up should you?

Probably way past your bedtime now isn't it, Seablu? Carry on hiding behind your keyboard spouting your hateful trash. One day it's going to come back and bite you.

Seablu added 23:39 - Aug 3
Not hiding behind my keyboard any more than you are DaGremloid, unless that is your real name.
As you ‘abhor racism of any kind' do you think that referring to black people as ‘picaninnies' with ‘watermelon smiles' is racist?
It's not a ‘hateful trash' question, it's a simple yes or no.
You seem quite unwilling to answer it. Do you not understand the question?

I'm not the one making false accusations, dude. I've been quite open and honest in this exchange. And the reason I am not answering your question is because it's a waste of time talking to someone who screams racism everytime someone disagrees with you. Boris Johnson wrote a SATIRICAL article (17 years ago), which was certainly not intended as racism at all, unlike your anti-semitism. But then you lefties have no idea what perspective and truth are do you? Read this article and educate yourself instead of looking like a tw@t all the time.

So DaGremloid, if it's dressed up as satire, then you think it's ok to use words like ‘picaninny' with ‘watermelon smiles' to describe black people.
We got there in the end.
Now, would you care to explain your accusation anti-semitism?

Seablu, care to share your experience on the subject or just going to continue to spout utter rubbish 🤦‍♂️

And as for not being interested in the Armed Forces that protect your right to quote such crap and have a go at perfectly innocent fans, you are what is ultimately very wrong in today's society!

Seablu added 09:32 - Aug 4
So Wooly, do you agree with DaGremloid that it's ok to call black people ‘Picaninnies' with ‘watermelon smiles' if your only defence is that it was satire?
Your military background has no relevance to the question whatsoever.
It really is a simple yes or no.

DaGremloid added 10:26 - Aug 4
Not really, no. Your photo says it all.

And I apologise for believing you were intelligent enough to work out the difference between racism and an article written 17 years ago satirising the Blair regime. Clearly I was wrong. You are like a bad meme, repeating your accusations over and over again until you believe them in your warped mind and hope others will be stupid enough to as well. Kieron Dyer was my favourite Town player while he was at Ipswich and I wouldn't wish any racial hatred on him whatsoever, but people like you will only ever see what you want to see to suit your agenda.

Concentrate on the football, Seablu - that you might understand.

Wooly74 - thanks for your support, mate. It's occasions like this when I really don't feel life is worth living.

DaGremloid.
You wouldn't really be interested to explain your accusation?
Are you even aware of the EISCA 2009 definition of anti-semitism?
I suggest you now crawl off and educate yourself on that one as well.
Glad to see you've admitted you're ok with racial slurs as long as they were satirical and said in the past. Would you advocate Love Thy Neighbour being re-run on tv as well?

DaGremloid added 13:53 - Aug 4
I think you're the one who needs educating on loving your neighbour, dude.

Seablu added 17:49 - Aug 4
Whoaaa there 'dude' not so fast.

You stated 'unlike your anti-semitism'

You're now going to have to justify that serious allegation with some proof.
I'm sure you've checked the EISCA directive so you'll be well aware that criticism of Israel is not anti-semitic.

Let's hear it.

DaGremloid added 19:28 - Aug 4
You justify your serious allegation that I'm racist first.

Show me where I called you a racist.
Choose carefully now, it will be important.

DaGremloid.
I did not call you a racist. I asked you whether you thought it was acceptable to refer to black people as picaninnies with watermelon smiles.
You, however, did make specific reference to my ‘anti-semitism'
As criticism of the IsraelI government's treatment of Palestinians is not anti-Semitic I would like to know what you base your assertion on.

Bigalhunter added 21:08 - Aug 4
You called me a racist, you called me an anti-semite, show me where etc etc.
Seriously guys, this is f*ckin ridiculous now.
The thread cocerns a former player who was alledgedly racially abused.
Can't you both just agree it was wrong, put your ridiculous baiting to one side and grow up?

Seablu,
You made several insinuations based on Boris Johnson's satirical piece about the Blair Govt. such as:

‘That's x2 flushed out who think it's fine;' 'Good to see the same few rancid individuals that emerged on the David McGoldrick BLM thread have managed to put finger to keypad once again;' ‘We got there in the end.'

I don't necessarily believe you are anti-Semitic — I just said that to see how you liked being accused of something you're not. Obviously it worked. Not pleasant is it?

Look Seablu, as I said before you don't know me and vice versa. I don't see things the way you do but that's no reason to launch vitriol at me. I'm a reasonable person and I'm always happy to expect others not to agree with my views or to see things differently. But as you are probably not anti-Semitic, nor am I racist in any shape or form. I think it's probably best we end this now and agree to disagree, especially as this is a football forum.

If I've offended you in any way I apologise but you have an offensive way of responding to people you disagree with. On a positive note, however, I'm sure that like me, you will be pleased to hear two people have been arrested in connection with Kieron's complaint. If they are the guilty ones then I hope they get the book thrown at them. They're the real scum in all of this.

Truce?

I agree, mate. It got out of hand. Apologies for any offence caused. I'm hoping this is the end of it.

DaGremloid.
I accept your apology and offer one in return.
As you rightly state, we're best off agreeing to disagree & the news regarding the arrests is very positive.
