The penalty appeared to be an over-reaction by the referee with the hint of a dive by the Lincoln player who seemed to go down very easily. However, when you take hold of an opponent in your box you are taking a hell of a risk and sadly we seemed to have a very delicate referee .
I also felt the sending off was harsh as Nolan was very clearly going for the ball. A less delicate referee would probably thought that a yellow card was sufficient punishment.
If penalty kicks are given for that then why is there not a penalty at every corner kick. Just watch any corner with the leaning and holding and tugging that goes on.
