Blues Among Clubs Linked With Eastleigh Striker
Wednesday, 2nd Dec 2020 14:24

Town, Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic are reportedly among a number of clubs eyeing Eastleigh striker Ben House.

The 21-year-old (pictured right) joined the National League side in the summer having left Reading and has netted six times in eight games in all competitions this season.

As a result of that form, according to Football Insider, the top six in League One and mid-table Championship sides are weighing-up whether to make a move for him with the Blues, Pompey and Addicks said to be showing the greatest interest.

Surrey-born House, a former Scotland U20 and U21 international, began his career as a youth player with Aldershot before joining Reading in 2016. While with the Royals he made one FA Cup sub appearance and spent time on loan at Swindon and Dagenham & Redbridge.

He'll be rubbish if he joins us, and better if he joins someone else, that's how it always seems to go

Considering Lambo only plays one up top and we already have Norwood, Jackson, Hawkins, Drinnan plus some very talented youngsters in Simpson, Morris, Folami, Brown.. it's a no from me.

Lambert should instead be spending his time on the training ground working with the team on creating chances for the forwards to put in the back of the net than looking elsewhere for unproven strikers in the hope that we find another Kieffer Moore.

I genuinely believe the strikers we have at the club are more than good enough for this level but Lambo's tactics and the lack of belief he has installed in them is killing us!

It won't happen. We should've bought Jonson Clarke-Harris when we had chance last season he's averaging one goal in every two games for Peterborough so far this season. To be honest we need creativity in midfield in the mould of a magilton let's be honest we haven't had a player like him since him we've always bought lightweights or battlers.

Don't put yourself out Mr House. Any decent signing/s will be discouraged and put off by our non footballing interviewer/s

Hmmm.... Eastleigh, which of those three clubs is just round the corner from Eastleigh, clue it's not us. Given the salary cap, collapsing form, club in decline and location it is a fairly safe bet there won't be much to tempt him out East.

It would be madness if he became our House. (See what I did there?)

No good getting strikers if you have a weak midfield who can't pass or get the ball to them. End up a striker becoming a midfielder and not scoring goals. Like someone said need another Jim magilton

It just goes to show the level of football the club is aspiring to reach. PH started this and made a League One team out of a Championship team. Now PL wants to make a National League team out of a League One team.

If we played decent football and gave our forward /s decent balls to feed off we wouldn't be looking for other forwards. Look at most of Norwood's goals for Tranmere, running on to perfect through balls. Don't get that service here.
