Blues Boss Lambert Linked With Celtic
Monday, 7th Dec 2020 20:35

Town boss Paul Lambert is being linked with the manager’s job at Celtic with current incumbent Neil Lennon coming under increasing pressure.

Lennon has tonight received a vote of confidence from the Parkhead board with his side sitting second in the Scottish Premiership, 13 points behind Rangers, although with two games in hand.

According to 90 Min the Bhoys are weighing-up whether to make a move for Lambert should they decide to jettison Lennon.

Lambert played for Celtic between 1997 and 2005, during which time he won four league titles, two Scottish Cups, two Scottish League Cups and was Scottish Football Writer's Player of the Year in 2002.

The Scottish champions have also been linked with a number of other managers including former boss Martin O’Neill, Eddie Howe and Gordon Strachan with Lambert currently well down the betting at 20/1 with the bookies.

Really really really think Celtic are a big club for a big manager, anyway as it's not April 1st I'm going on the assumption that KVY is back and will propel us onward and upward

Could we get a transfer fee?

What a load of nonsense. If Lambert can't deal with the pressure of managing Ipswich, there is no chance he could do the Celtic job and I don't think the powers that be at Celtic would even contemplate him in the first place.

He'd be under immediate pressure at Celtic for results unlike this club...I'd be very surprised if Celtic appointed him with Lambert's track record.

celtic fans would be more abusive than the blues fans. he could not handle that and would be in danger if he makes remarks as he has recently here.

Won't happen. Although this is the time we write good items about our manager to tempt the Celtic ripples

Dolphinblue, I admire your optimism, what are some highlights of supporting town over the last 13 years? Maybe I have a short memory? Please could you remind me of some to fill me with some Christmas spirit? I mean I reckon you would be happy with timmy mallet as our manager lol. We all want what is best for the club, just out of interest how did you feel after finishing in 11th in league one last season? I hope lambert does do it of course I do (promotion) but you can see why people are concerned and a bit fed up.

No way are Celtic that desperate. I'd love it if he went, but no such luck. He could take Evans with him too.

I'm sure playing road county or Motherwell would be no harder than Peterborough or Doncaster,it's about the same level of football, and I'm sure if asked Paul would jump at the change.but would anybody give him a job going on his record .all Ipswich seem to get is last chance Charlie's.thanks evans.

Ok, let's play this game then. Say he went to Celtic, there are very few decent managers out there available right now, who on earth would you want to replace him with?? It would be like voting for Brexit without having a plan on what to do once we leave the EU, and of course that would just be daft wouldn't it............

Blue86.....everything you say is true but l just dont think its Lamberts fault and see no benefit in the constant negativity. We are 3rd in the league with many players to return. Our injury crisis will end and we have every chance of being promoted. Im enjoying the season COYB BIG WIN ON SATURDAY! 😀

If you're still in November dolphin, you'll be jumping through hoops when you get to the present time and find out that we took 4 points from two games in December.

i see Celtic are in their annual 10 month close season (the time between their exit from Europe and the following years competition).
I doubt a manager struggling to make any impact on the English third division is going to change that.

If there is a grain of truth in this then this would of course be the dream job for him and he would be off like a shot and who could blame him?

We would be due compensation and there are managers available:

EDDIE HOWE NOW!!

Personally I hope he stays here. We are a league 1 club with a decent but not top league one side and he may get us up. Look at all the managers we've had under ME and the same old fans have moaned about every one of them. If we had another then those fans would be on his back too if we don't win every game. With some on here I think they would moan if we lost a game even if we were 10 points clear at the top.
In the 70s we used to stand near a guy who for every home game wore the other teams scarf. He was a town fan but believed that if he supported the other team then town would win. I think many on here actually want the opposition to win so that they can have their regular moans.
Don't just expect every change of manager to be the answer but instead get behind and support the one we have. By supporting him you send a message to the players that we are behind them all.
