Blue Action Plan Organised Protest
Tuesday, 15th Dec 2020 09:52

Independent supporters group Blue Action has announced plans to hold an organised protest prior to the home game against Swindon Town on Saturday 9th January.

Blue Action was formed at the start of the 2018/19 season in order to try to improve the atmosphere at home games via banners, stickers and the introduction of new songs, and more recently have produced a fanzine.

Early on in manager Paul Lambert’s tenure they were invited to the training ground to talk about the atmosphere at Portman Road as the incoming boss sought to improve relations between the club and its fans.

But latterly, with the Blues again appearing to be drifting towards mid-table in League One, they have spoken out about the club’s situation and called for the departure of Lambert on a banner hung on the gates at Playford Road.

They subsequently draped another banner on the perimeter fence at Portman Road reading “Tick-tock Marcus, the future of the club is at stake”.

They announced the planned demonstration in a statement on their social media accounts this morning.

I'm fully behind blue action group, but my problem is not Marcus evens even though what was he thinking giving Paul Lambert a five year deal ?? My problem is Lambert !! Now I know we have injuries but are we that bad ? Now I'm aware that there will be supporters saying we are sixth but come on let's be honest we have be awful and the decline looks like it could be exactly the same as last season , he's not been great since being at the club other than trying to get the fans to believe which has now gone . Don't go on about negativity because we have back our club but enough is enough .

Just please one of the people who is sticking up for evans explain what he has done apart from take the debt from 30 million to over 100 million and sold off any assets we had in players as I've stated the club before he took over had a 30 million debt albeit losses of about 2.7 million on average a season but a team challenging in the top 8, with a passionate ex player as manager, highest gate of 29,895, a very good side with some players who went into the premier league like Walters, to a now 100 million debt and even bigger losses each season? Where's the money gone? On what? Not the team he's stripped that from what we had in 2007 when he took over?
So anyone supporting him tell the others who are against him where's the improvement in the club he spoke about last statement since he's come in?
For those talking about where we'd be without him, well that goes the other way where could we be with an owner who actually took an interest didn't spend the first 7 years out the limelight and no one knew who he was, maybe one of the initial other two bidders may have improved us for every bury you guys talk about there's a wolves, a Bournemouth or dare I say it a Norwich so maybe you evans fans tell us what he's done to improve the club!???? No one even me was expecting millions invested into buying players but look at Brentford they spend a couple of million a season and make a fortune on those players a season or two later they have no money but a new stadium and only 10000 fans each week yet you evans supporters say our fans are a joke yet we fund the club even now without actually being able to go to a game and our gates last season in league one were excellent even finishing 11th? Tell me what other clubs fans cheer a team off the pitch at the end of a disastrous season and relegation like we did last game in the championship?? Hardly any!! Christ even arsenal fans are kicking off about their owners and manager and look where they are go tell them they have Devine right to be in the premier league as well! Christ we've literally accepted decline and to say it's not our given right to want better is an absolute joke of a comment from some so called fans on here
Where do

BA81, we are not a club the size of anything, we are simply a football club with £100m of debt and growing. Football clubs are seemingly deemed different to other business, I'll never understand that. It is perfectly feasible that we could go out of business. I have never been a big Evan's fan, I'm simply basing my opinion on facts surrounding our current situation. We have debts out weighing our assets, that technically makes our club insolvent. The only saving grace right now is we have a "guarantor" for our debts.

Bernice, you said it yourself, if your problem is Lambert, then your problem by default is Evans (initial appointment and mind boggling 5 years. ) He's the bottom line, whichever way you slice it.

Saxonblue we shouldn't be praising him because he's raised our debt to 100 million from 30 in 13 years when we was only making losses of 2.7 the two or three seasons before that, stripping the club of ANY decent players we had and left with what we have now?? So what you're saying is he's holding us to ransom? That's lovely what a kind man he is 🙄
That's like someone throwing you off the top of a building and putting a plaster over the injury from it! 🙄

BBP, I agree with most of your post. Sadly we ARE in the situation we are in and no amount of finger pointing is going to change the past. Football and its finances are based solely on success on the pitch. We have not achieved greatness during Evan's tenure and that Carries huge financial implications. Players are sold to balance the books or look to improve their career with a more successful club. Ten years ago we had a viable business for a new buyer. Less debt, greater prospect. Not so now, so in my opinion (that's all any of us have!) we need to fight with what we have at our disposal or face fairly imminent demise.

Saxonblue I said WE shouldn't be praising him. So what he owns the club? He's taken us from championship challengers to average and even with injured players back we finished 11th last season the team we had under magilton was very good this team is poor maybe 4 players max who could cut it in the championship. That's depressing and I think he should damn well know especially after last weeks statement blaming us for the clubs demise when a lot of us me included bought tickets knowing we probably wouldn't see many games. I do my bit home and away I have a right to let him know it's not good enough. Hopefully he sells as I say for very bury there's a Bournemouth and Norwich 🤷‍♂️

Cheshireblue so wanting better for the club is destroying it? As I said you support evans and fair enough but tell me where is the improvement in the team? He has blamed fans for being where we are when some of us including me have bought season tickets knowing we won't get to see games so I have a right as do others to want more. Maybe it's people like you happy clapping to the serious decline in our club that are the real people screwing this club up!? I support the club but I want better everyone you included would have expected better from a successful businessman like evans the 6th RICHEST owner outside the premier league not for him to take us to our lowest position in over 60 years!? Get a grip! As I say tell me where the improvement is in the club under his tenure as I've asked you and others before and had no answer probably because there isn't one?

Cheshireblue also tell me of any other club our size who cheered their underperforming players off last game of the season we was relegated to league one? I know the Leeds and millwalls fans went ballistic when they were relegated we clapped, we have clapped for 13 years of decline and now enoughs enough
