Huws in Team of Midweek
Wednesday, 16th Dec 2020 16:40

Blues midfielder Emyr Huws has been named in the Sky Bet League One Team of Midweek having scored the winning goal in last night’s 2-1 home win against Burton Albion.

Brewers keeper Kieran O’Hara is also named in the select XI as is former Blues loanee Callum Elder, who is now with Hull City.

Huws, 27, netted his first league goal since April 2017 in the 80th minute as Town ended a three-game home winless run.

Hmmm......must have been a poor nights football all round then last night lol

Pleased for Huws, his game upped significantly once we changed formation. On song he can be a real asset.

What did their keeper Kieran O’Hara have to do, to get in the team of the week? It's not as though we test the opposition keepers much for them to impress, is it?

Alot that Huws tried in the first half didnt come off prob due to a lack of match sharpness but he def improved markedly later in the match. It was great that he got the winner and let's hope he can now kick on to his full potential.

TimmyH, says more about the people voting on the match ratings! I thought he had a decent game and yes Suffolkboy, I'm sure he could do with a boost. We can't underestimate how difficult it must have been to deal with the long term injuries he suffered. It must be as frustrating for him as it is us, the long road back to his pre-injury form.

Glad he scored the winner, but I thought he had a poor game. He needed to get stuck in a bit more and actually tackle instead of ball watching and running parallel to opposition players when they had the ball!!
Just my take on him!!!!

Great stuff.
He probably received such low ratings on here because of how negative the site has become.

Must be a case of mistaken identity. One of many players who must be released in the summer. This squad has not been good enough for years now results don't lie.

Do any of the happy clappers on here actually watch the games? Huws was very poor and has been for some time. He won’t even make the bench when the ‘Cavalry’ arrive.

Watched the full 90 minutes and I thought Huws was decent. Well-deserved.

Huws is a talented player but for me he had a poor game and looked well off the pace. Yes he scored the winner but team of the week. This shows how poor league one really is. I sincerely hope Huws returns to full fitness and performs to the level we know he can

How much longer does Huws need to get fully fit two years. You've got to accept that he's never going to be the player he was . We need to sign new players in the summer and stop persisting with the same failures season after season.
