Przybek Joins Chesterfield on Loan
Thursday, 21st Jan 2021 11:24

Keeper Adam Przybek has joined National League Chesterfield on loan for the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old was recalled from his loan spell at Vanarama National League South Concord Rangers earlier in the week having also spent time with Braintree earlier in the campaign.

Chesterfield have also signed former Lincoln keeper Grant Smith and the two are set to vie for the role between the sticks.

Wales U21 international Przybek, whose only senior appearance for Town was in the Leasing.com Trophy at Peterborough last season, is contracted to the Blues until the end of the season with the club having an option for a further year.

Przybek's exit leaves 19-year-old Bert White as the Blues' third-choice keeper as things stand with Harry Wright, 22, unlikely to be included in the 22-man senior squad.

So he can't play for us this year. Puts to bed any idea that he might be given a go

A level higher than previous, no complaints from anyone surely?

Wright obviously needs to move on, a few years older than the other two and 3rd choice out of them both (5th choice overall at club).

That's a really good move for him.

Chesterfield are managed by a Suffolk lad and someone who is thought of very highly - could be a potential future Town manager.

We haven't got an outstanding keeper at the club but i guess that's where we are in the third tier.

It's good for his development but we need a decent keeper in the first team. Both are poor for differing reasons. Holy appears to be a fan's favourite as he's a nice guy but he can't kick and can't catch crosses . We need a proper keeper such as Bart who was solid and often saved us .

Perhaps Chesterfield have agreed to pay some (if not all) of his wages whereas I suspect that South Concord Rangers were paying a lot less (if any).

Nevertheless, a step up for the lad and good experience which, if he makes it, will bear us in good stead for the future.
