Jackson Linked With Huddersfield Loan Move
Monday, 1st Feb 2021 10:20

Blues striker Kayden Jackson is being linked with a deadline day loan move to Championship Huddersfield Town. Clubs have until 11pm this evening to add to their squads.

According to Sky Sports, the 26-year-old is in talks with the Terriers regarding a move to the John Smith’s Stadium.

Town are short on strikers at present due to Oli Hawkins having undergone knee surgery, while James Norwood has struggled to get over a hamstring problem.

Jackson is also unavailable at present as he is one game into a three-match ban for his red card against Sunderland last week.

That lack of frontmen has led the Blues to enter the market for another striker ahead of today’s deadline, so it would appear surprising if Town were to allow one of their senior attackers to depart.

However, manager Paul Lambert was scathing in his criticism of Jackson following his dismissal and the former Accrington man doesn’t suit the lone central striking role the Blues currently employ.

And the departure of a member of the 22-man senior squad would allow Lambert to bring in a more experienced striker, rather than - or perhaps as well as - one of the youngsters they have been targeting up to now, with 20-year-old Nottingham Forest man Will Swan among the potential recruits in that bracket.

In the summer, Town turned down a £1 million offer from AFC Bournemouth for Jackson, while Luton Town were also among the Championship clubs interested and Birmingham and Stoke were linked.

Town will also hope to get more of their own youngsters, players such as Armando Dobra and Brett McGavin, out on loan before the end of today.

Good - fcuk off .... we don't need players like him

Dreadful sending off against Sunderland, wanted out in the summer and clearly not up for the fight ... another disasterous Paul Hurst signing

Dont do it the Ipswich way----and let him go for peanuts-------w all know if he goes he will suddenly become fit again and start findiing the net.

This should free us up to get one possibly 2 new hungry young strikers in----the players we currently have are just not good enough and everybody knows that------apart from possibly numb nut that is!

Unfortunately Razor, despite what Hurst paid for him, peanuts is what he's worth.

Don't rate him, he can't head the ball or keep close control. So what's Lambo going to do!

Hopefully sign a proper CF as we can't rely on youth in this very physical league. Trouble is that we're too slow a sit seems that anyone decent has already found a new club. What a mess!!

Rather than loan, why not sell him.
Cant see him staying beyond the summer anyway. At present at least we can get a fee

Sell. Not loan.

A friend of mine at Millwall (yeah I know that sentence shouldn't be possible but it is..) claims that Troy Parrott's loan spell at Millwall is being terminated, and he is in talks to come on loan to us. If that's the case this move may be a good one. Let Jackson try to build some form and get some goals then sell. Parrott wouldn't do any worse than any of our other strikers.

Sadly has not shown the skills we rightly expect , has not evidenced any consistent attention to professional requirements ,and personal lack of discipline ( or maybe intelligence ) has seen him come up short in a number of roles on the pitch .
Whatever the reasons ,and it may be the fault is ours, he would not be a major miss ; the correct assessment, judgement and action can never be wrong !
Get rid !

We are down to bare bones on strikers, hate him or love him, we can't let a striker go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They must have a severely flawed scouting system. They is no way Jackson could play Championship football. Defenders will just play off his first touch. Fantastic to get rid of him but they won't want him permanently. Too much attitude imo and delusional in relation to his footballing ability (or lack of it)

GET RID PERMANENTLY!!! Absolute pub player! Rabbit in the headlights! Touch is abysmal and he has such a high opinion of himself! More business from ITFC that proves the owner is totally clueless!! 1.6 million 😂

To be fair Jacksons dismissal has given everyone a downer on him and rightfully so.
He is at his best when he is played in a front 2 where his pace is his asset.
If PL was to change formation to 442, then you would see why Championship clubs are interested him and believe it or not he will score goals and we will climb the table.

I can see it now, we will let him go out on loan, not get anyone else in and the moan about the lack of strikers!!

What a joke.

No !!!
Lambert is the issue, not Jackson
We won many games last season with Norwood and Jackson, but Lambert insists on playing a lone (very lonely) one striker...which is not working.
Jackson needs to stay and when Lambert has gone (which I hope is soon) he can be utilised properly and we 'may' then make the play-offs.
If Lambert is going to stay for the rest of the season and beyond and continue dragging us down then he may as well go !!!

I never saw what else he had to offer except pace. He wants out. That might explain that sending off. Let him go and let's try and find someone who is a cold blooded assassin in front of goal.

I saw the highlights of Huddersfield on Quest on Saturday - yes that bored
They are miles better than us
Good Luck if he goes

Can we sign a big Target man with loads of pace, who can hold the ball up, run in behind, make his own chances, is a fox in the box, drop deep, defend at set pieces, score from set pieces, take a good free kick, injure Alan Judge and with a view to player manager role in the next 2 weeks ?

Not a fan of Jackson. Watched clips of him prior to signing and didnt think he looked a natural goalscorer. However, under Lambert and as a few have already mentioned, feel sympathy as he has constantly been played out of position and clearly hasnt enjoyed it. His best form has been in a 4-4-2 where his main attribute....pace.....can be exploited. Also think some are going way over the top with his sending off. It was a stupid tackle....but was intentional and football is a contact sport (although some of you would like changed). He has been guilty of a silly challenge/sending off before though and really should be learning from it.

evans needs to block this.

jackson's our best striker (who else is interesting championship clubs?), the only thing holding him back is lambert & lambert's formation.

if evans lets him go, it means lambert is in for the long term, more trolling for the fans

casanovacrow added 11:35 - Feb 1
We are struggling to score so we shift out someone who scored a significant amount for us at this level, freeing up wages only to get in another unproven kid from a bigger club who won't count to the cap? Smells more like cost cutting than solving anything
