No Late £1m Huddersfield Bid For Jackson
Monday, 1st Feb 2021 23:53

A report claiming Town accepted a £1 million offer from Huddersfield for striker Kayden Jackson just prior to the 11pm deadline is wide of the mark, TWTD understands, although they did make a late loan approach.

According to Sky Sports the Blues verbally accepted a bid of £1 million plus add-ons from the Terriers for Jackson but with there being a question whether the paperwork was rubber-stamped before the deadline.

We understand that no such offer was accepted, however, Huddersfield did make a late loan move for the 26-year-old frontman but too late in the day for the Blues to consider.

Town would almost certainly have wanted to add a replacement if Jackson had moved on, something they wouldn't have had time to do even if Huddersfield had made an otherwise acceptable offer.

So we are stuck with a non-scoring striker who thinks he,s better than he is! Sadly we haven,t managed to offload any of our non-performers so perhaps none of them are as good as they imagine.

£1m???? Of course we would have accepted that! In a heartbeat. What a silly report.

Dockerblue.

It might help if he was played as a striker rather than a right winger.
The fact that other teams are looking at him just proves the point that the management team are not getting the best out of him.

Funny how our star players Downes, Dozzell and Woolfenden did not get bids turned down just shows they are not as good as we think they are.

Another one who doesn't want to be here. Nolan the same imo. Whatever happens at the end of the season, ME needs to be planning now. If, repeat if, we get promoted or stay in this division x big clear out required. Bigger earners Chambers,Skuse, Judge, Sears, and Jackson, Nolan,Nsiala, should go, Rebuild with younger players and bringing in decent, solid experienced players where needed, eg, CB, CM and CF.

It's also wide of the mark that Lambert was not Able to get Kane on a 4 week loan, not that he scores goals but wanted him to give a boost to the players in the treatment room.

A month to do get transfers sorted and stuff gets left until the last couple of hours of the window. I really don't understand the mentality in football business.

It seems Sky Sports Spews had nothing substantial to report on their stupid overhyped Transfer Deadline Day, so had to generate stories for that scottish idiot to talk about.
Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of huge deadline days.

Players need to be contributing to the success of the team......if they are not then you really need to analyze the reasons why. In a few cases we have players who are simply not up to scratch/over the hill. But, whatever your thoughts on Jackson, you are never going to get the best out of anyone by continuously playing out of position/not playing to their strengths.

In general, how can you possibly build a cohesive unit when you are stifling their creativity. The confidence ebbs away, frustration and mistakes begin to grow(penalties, own goals, sending offs). A negative approach has reaped what it has sown.

46 clean sheets still only provides 46 points if you dont attack/players in the box/shots on target/goals..............does thay take much analysis!?!?

We would have been fast asleep by that time. According to the Huddersfield end, it was loan with option to buy. Let him go we only play with one up front. None of our strikers are good enough to play one up front.

I think Jackson is a hit or miss player (miss this season)...has his injury problems, personally would like to see him get a string of games alongside Norwood again though as they're both out regularly that's never going to happen.

Jackson can go. Great runner/sprinter. Cannot control a football for love or money. He is no Kiwomya.

Pity this, a good runner is Kayden but thats it, no ball control, struggles with the offside rule, league 2 at best I'm afraid. Let's hope he can move on in the summer and he can go on the have a good career.

Karlosfandangel Agree with you up to a point. Don't really think we've got any star players though. As for Dozzell he's playing the wrong game, should be playing walking football not a patch on his dad.

Can't see Jackson playing any time soon after his sending off. Yes, it was a terrible tackle, but as we've seen time and time again, a good manager would defend his players, saying the usual “ yes it was a bad tackle, but it was clumsy, not deliberate. He's not that type of player etc etc etc' and then dealt with it behind closed doors. Unfortunately for us, we have a brainless moron as a manager with no concept of man management who hung Jackson out to dry at every possible opportunity. We all know he's not a great player, but why would he now want to play for this clown who is clearly happy to blame anyone and everyone else for his massive failings at this club. No wonder he was after a loan move.

Think this is total bull shot who in there right mind would pay any money for Jackson let alone a million pound .
No where near championship level , more likely league 2 on free transfer .
If any want actually would want him

Is the problem JACKSON or LAMBERT?

When paired with NORWOOD, he seemed to be able to put the ball in the net? I think he is getting some unfair press here, LAMBERT's one up front clearly does not suit his style of play. Put someone up front alongside him, yes TWO up front and we might end up being pleasantly surprised ....
