Posh Hopeful Game Will Go Ahead
Monday, 8th Feb 2021 15:24

Peterborough United are hopeful Tuesday’s League One game against the Blues will go ahead despite the snowy weather (KO 7pm).

Posh have already had problems with the London Road pitch this season due to a water main close to the main stand having burst before Christmas and the leak having led to a significant build-up of water below the playing surface, which has suffered as a result.

But with snow having fallen lightly in Peterborough up to now compared with Suffolk, Posh are confident that the game will take place.

However, with more snow and temperatures below zero forecast throughout tomorrow, the match could still potentially be at risk.

The pitch is covered by a tent with hot air being pumped on to the surface, similar to the approach used by the Blues, which has meant games at Portman Road have been able to go ahead in all but the most extreme conditions in recent years.

Awful pitch, awful ground. We would be better off playing on a recently ploughed field !!!!

It's all Evans fault.

Be amazed if this game goes ahead .... or finish if it does start .
Also, Do we want to play them on a cow field for such an important game?

Should play it at PR, surely makes no difference with no crowd and being local? No player is going to enjoy that pitch.

I would suggest it does make a difference to them which game the pitch is played on....

Home 9 - 2 -1 For 27 Against 9
Away 5 -2 - 6 For 11 Against 14

If the game is on......no excuses, go there and attack

Peterborough didnt repeat their performance of last season in the game last month. Fortunate to win & a similar team to last Saturday could see us gain revenge. But please no OAPs at full back

The pitch is dreadful but if we go there with the mindset of Lee Bowyer and Charlton saying it's unplayable then we're in for a tough night, they're confident of playing on it and therefore so we should be too..
