Nolan Out For Two Months
Thursday, 4th Mar 2021 18:30

Midfielder Jon Nolan is facing two months out of action after injuring his medial collateral ligament in training earlier this week.

The 28-year-old, who isn’t expected to feature again until May, hasn’t played for the first team since the Sunderland game in late January having been exiled to the U23s by former boss Paul Lambert.

Just in time for the transfer season maybe ? From what we've seen it's a surprise if he was trying too hard and got injured .
Never mind !

Maybe, he got injured because he's been at home with his feet up, and isn't up to speed fitnesswise

Would be at all surprised if he's totally had enough of our club and the way he's been treated

lambert's fault obvs, keeping him from training properly, hopefully the last!

That's a shame. Until he fell out with PL he was one of our better players this season. Unfortunately, his season is now over. Is he one of the multitude who have their contracts up for renewal this summer?

Oh dear. I feel sorry for Nolan. He was unfairly frozen out by Lambert and now misses the chance to impress Paul Cook. Lambert never got the best out of Nolan but he is an attacking midfielder who scores goals and Cook's playing style could suit him. We may never find out now.

These injuries should not be happening in training as often as they do at our club. Hopefully things will change with Paul Cook in charge. Get the feeling John Nolan has never really settled in the Ipswich area which often happens. Shame because he's had a decent season where nobody has really stood out.

Obviously the kids have worn him down

Linkboy13. The kind of injury he has got vmcannot be prevented. It's an injury usually caused by getting studs caught in the ground, twisting the joint. So can happen at any point, maybe even simply when running, or turning. Something that u cabt avoid doing when training. As u say, it's a,shame as he gas had a decent season.

I bet he wished he never signed for us. I really like Nolan, I think he's a terrific player that's never been able to overcome being in a poor team. We've definitely never seen the best of him.

Unlucky. Can't see him playing for us again if his contract is up end of this season. Never really done it for me. No doubt he'll be a decent signing for another League one club. His level. Championship proved a step too far.

He must be happy that he can spend more time at home with his wife and kids while getting paid by ITFC. Hopefully that's the last we'll see of him in a Town shirt!

Unfair to judge him on the basis of Lambert's one sided view. Likely to be made available and good luck to him.

I wish him a speedy recovery and agree he did start the season well enough for us. Being optimistic for a moment though if we got promoted he is not good enough for the Championship and along with a few others brought in by Hurst sums up why we are where we are. A team of League One/League Two players with some home grown youngsters mixed in that equals a League One standard team.
We need PC to get an extra 10 -15% from what we've got to get us up and then time for a clear out and some serious investment.

I honestly think he's a very decent player deep down and always pops up with the scrappy goals when needed.
I'm gutted he might not get the chance under Cook to prove it here , no doubt he will do it at another club when settled.

Not really bothered, if the stories are true, his attitude stinks.
