Dobra in Albania U21 Squad
Monday, 24th May 2021 13:56

Blues forward Armando Dobra has been named in the Albania U21 squad for a training camp and their June internationals.

The Albanian youngsters meet up for the training camp this week and will then face Andorra away in a European Championships qualifier on Friday 4th June, then travel to Bulgaria for a friendly four days later.

Dobra, 20, has previously won three caps at U21 level having previously played for the U19s.

Like most of the rest of the current first-team squad, Dobra has been told he can leave this summer should the Blues receive an acceptable offer.

Meanwhile, young defender Elkan Baggott won't be joining up with the Indonesia squad for their June fixtures due to the Covid situation.

good for him, like his attitude, and deserves recognition for his efforts [even if Cook cant see it]. Good luck to him.

I just don't understand why we are happy for Dobra to look elsewhere , if that is really the case .

He was one of very few players that progressed and showed potential last season .

I think the keyword is ”acceptable”. Every player at every club is probably for sale if the price is right, even Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo.

Yup , I agree , BlueSwede , I guess we don't really know how it was told to the players .

In the case of Dobra , he is one of very few players I would be hoping to keep .

The way it's been reported it's not clear , there must be some that PC would like to keep

Good player with a good attacking attitude, always has an impact when he comes onto the park. Does PC really know what he is doing? At this point I doubt it, as for higher team's players taking a drop down to league 1, I know I wouldn't. I just hope Cook knows his own game plan. But I agree with other posts Dobra is one to keep.

I like dobra as well, seems like he could be a decent player one day. But like most young players his decision making on the pitch isn't great and I've yet to see him create or score many goals. I personally think cook will go with big strong tidy players more than technical to get us out of this awful league. It's a shame as I would like to see the likes of dobra and bishop staying. I just can't see where they would fit in unless it's as impact subs?

I think sidewaysbackwards is right. I can't see us being able to attract too many players above L1 standard, although I expect them to be solid and of good quality at this level. But it begs the question: If we go up to the Championship, does Cook then do another total clearout to meet the demands of a higher level?

Move along nothing to see here

He has the potential to add a spark to any game. Until the club itself confirms what players have actually been told and in what context, I am not inclined to believe that they can all go.
