Blue Action to Move to More Central Position
Tuesday, 29th Jun 2021 10:26

Town independent supporters group Blue Action are moving to a more central position in the Sir Bobby Robson Stand ahead of the new season so the noise they create permeates further across the terrace.

Blue Action was formed at the start of the 2018/19 season with improving the Portman Road atmosphere in mind via banners, stickers and the introduction of new songs, and more recently have produced a fanzine.

Earlier this year, they were at the vanguard of the protests against former manager Paul Lambert and owner Marcus Evans.

Traditionally they have been based in the corner of Section 6 but are moving across to the front of that area closer to Section 5. Their statement reads:

Fantastic decision, well done Blue Action. Absolutely buzzing for the new season, the north stand is going to be leaping!

Good news! When S6 used to start a chant it would be delayed to S4 and when your in the middle it doesn't sound right. Lets get behind them this year!!! COYB

Is the end goal getting BVB-like banners etc across the whole stand? That would be awesome

Thanks for that. In other news, my Uncle Bob has moved from Churchman's lower to the upper tier for the new season.

Create the noise, atmosphere and visuals (everyone have a scarf at least!) and the team will surely react positively and give it 110% every home game. COYB!!

How did they manage to get hold of those seats from season ticket holders already there? Just asking.

Would be lovely to have more atmosphere in the SAR lower. My boys are still to young to move across. Hopefully this will generate across the whole stadium.

@atty - We didn't take any from ST holders. Every seat we took was vacant.

All for generating more atmophere but if the view I have paid for is obscured by anything (I am border of Section 5) it will boot off

Good move. Hope other sections of the BR will join in. I'm all for a bit of vocal support despite my age - as long as it's not directly abusive.

Would be good to see more diversity within Blue action, it's very unbalanced at present.

All for one and one for all COYB it's our time I hope.

@LonE17Blue bit of a daft comment, Blue Action is open to all to get involved. We don't have a particularly diverse fanbase, so a lack of diversity within the group is actually pretty representative I would say!

I have to confess that in the early days of section six i admired their enthusium....The chanting and the singing creating an atmosphire is all about getting the feel of the game unfolding in front of you.......Its just like watching Brazil.....when it clearly wasnt...makes me cringe
I want our fans to start enjoying themselves again and offer some great banter ,,,,bring it on
