Crowe in Action For Huddersfield
Wednesday, 28th Jul 2021 17:34

Young Blues right-back Dylan Crowe played a friendly for a Huddersfield academy side last Friday.

The 20-year-old looks set to leave Town this summer despite having another year left on his contract.

Earlier in the close season, talks were understood to be ongoing regarding the mutual termination of his contract, however, that ultimately didn’t come to fruition and the full-back currently remains a Blues player.

According to Huddersfield’s official website, Crowe, who was capped by England at U15, U16, U17 and U18 levels, played the first 84 minutes for a Young Terriers side as they lost 2-1 at Worksop Town on Friday.

In May 2019, the Blues were reported to have rejected a £300,000 offer from Huddersfield for Crowe, who had previously been linked with the likes of Celtic, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Manchester United, Brighton, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Benfica.

Crowe, who has been with Town since he was 12, made his only senior appearance for the Blues at Crawley in the Papa John’s Trophy last season.

seems like he needs a fresh start, hope we get a sell-on fee on him though, change of surroundings might see him click

I seem to recall there were high hopes for this lad at one time.

Another Academy product who promised much but for whatever reason never delivered!

I tend to agree with @Linkboy, I too have seen him several times. He still looks very much like a “boy” footballer rather than a man. At the age of 20 he should at least be making a mark to be included in the first team squads like young 17 old Humphreys for a few preseason friendlies.

Unfortunately appears he has an overinflated opinion of himself. Need to walk the walk, we need to move players on if they haven't had a sniff of being close to the first team squad by the time they reach 21. Look at Reekem Harper, a beast at 21 having played a few games in the Priemership.

Sorry you didn't make it here Dylan but all the best, just be careful who you listen to in future. Would be happy for you to go on and do great things and we might consider you a loss but we need space for the next crop of players to have a bash at showing they are worthy of contract.

This lad was supposed to be the next big thing with massive clubs eyeing to sign him , So what's gone wrong !
To much hype when young with beefing him up. What a shame

There's a story here somewhere. The scouts who work for the likes of Man. Utd., Celtic, Benfica, etc. know what they're doing, so clearly there was some ability there somewhere. What happened?

Either way, right now, I'd take 300k plus sell-ons if we could get it. Doubt Hud will offer as much now though sadly
