Celina Sidelined With Covid-Related Heart Problem
Saturday, 31st Jul 2021 19:52

Blues target Bersant Celina is sidelined with heart complications related to Covid-19.

As previously reported, Town have been in talks with the former loanee, who is currently with French side Dijon, about a return to Portman Road for much of the summer.

The 24-year-old contracted Covid late in June but returned to his club in mid-July.

However, manager David Linarès says the Kosovo international is currently not involved due to a heart issue.

“Bersant Celina has a problem related to Covid-19, complications at the heart level,” Linarès told his club’s official website. “We must not take risks.”

Celina is required to undergo tests before he is able to return to action with Dijon, who were relegated to Ligue 2 last season.

The former Manchester City man’s lack of involvement in pre-season and likely continued absence for some weeks would appear to end any chance of Celina returning to Portman Road this summer.

Town were facing opposition from a number of other clubs for the forward's signature, reportedly including Championship Hull City and Coventry City, and clubs in the Dutch top flight where Celina previously played on loan with FC Twente in 2016/17.

Celina spent 2017/18 on loan with the Blues from Manchester City, making 26 starts and 12 sub appearances, scoring eight times, in a successful spell under Mick McCarthy’s management.

That doesn't sound good. Obviously his health is the most important consideration here. If he got back to full A1 fitness I would love to see him back here one day. Get well asap Celina.

The only issue here is Bersant's health, please stop making ill informed comments about Covid, the only thing to do is wish the lad a speedy recovery regardless of who he plays for now or in the future. Health is everything.

You insensitive souls!

I cannot believe what I've read these past couple of days. Have some respect!!

Don't get me wrong, I see and understand why the now deleted post was removed. But, getting poor lad apologising. Not good. Stand by your truth.

Whether you or I like the it or not, some people HAVE and WILL continue to have the severe post-v@ccination complications.

Sadly, me and my family are having to deal with the devastating death of (1) relative and (2) neighbours after receiving the C0V vaccination - one of which, was a young lad of 23 for heaven sake!! 23!!! All were perfectly healthy. We are absolutely devastated!!
I also had one a patient die with a blood clot behind the eye, one go completely blind after just one dose. And another can now barely walk due to sudden onset rheumatoid arthritis. Again, all were perfectly healthy before. This is devastating news.
Perhaps you will now understand why I ask you to respect how many others may feel very differently, as this subject is very personal to me and many many others now mourning the heartbreaking and needless loss of a loved one post-C0V vaccination.

By blindly repeating the mainstream mantra of the “benefits outweigh the risks“ is insulting, and is almost like subtly suggesting I or we are crazy to suggest any different. This is an appalling feeling to have to deal with.

They're are now a near 20,000 (European) deaths after receiving the C0V vaccination. And many more worldwide. The feeling of having our voices taken away or to be made to feel like we are crazy is not something I or we should be made to feel. Nobody will listen.

Now, before you shout “anti-vaxxer“. NO! I am not! You are free to do as you wish. Merely having a different opinion, that can be backed up with facts doesn't make you anti anything. It is all a matter of personal lived experience. And I respectfully remind you many many others feel or know differently to you because of what has happened to them and their families.

Sadly, I fully expect this post will be met with a some horrible abuse and “down-likes”. And I also expect this post will be reported and deleted. Further leaving me and folk like me totally voiceless. Although of course I hope and pray this won't be the case. I expect better of Town supporters. I hope people have a bit more love and kindness in their hearts and intentions.

I understand this post isn't strictly ITFC related, however 1 or 2 posts above were and are deeply ill-informed, naive and somewhat very presumptuous.

And now, anyway yes of course, I agree the most important thing now is for Bersant to make a full recovery and get back to playing football ASAP. No matter what really caused this health episode. Hopefully this will be in Town colours of course.

COYB. It's going to be an interesting season ahead! EEK!!
