Saturday Fixtures Not Streamed on iFollow
Tuesday, 3rd Aug 2021 13:58

The EFL has confirmed that matches played with traditional 3pm kick-offs on Saturday afternoons will not be streamed live on iFollow in the UK during the season ahead, however, midweek games will be available.

Last season, due to the pandemic and fans not being able to attend fixtures, all matches were streamed live on iFollow.

The EFL has issued a guide for the season ahead with the arrangements in League One returning to the situation prior to Covid.

"League One
"All midweek matches, both home and away, can be shown live on iFollow. No games will be streamed live in the UK which kick-off between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on Saturdays, including international weekends.

EFL Trophy
Ties are available to watch live on iFollow, home and away except the semi-finals and final.

Carabao Cup
Matches are not available for streaming domestically or internationally.

FA Cup
To be confirmed by the Football Association.

International viewers
All League One and EFL Trophy matches whether home and away, weekend or midweek are eligible for international streaming with the exception of any game shown live in the UK on Sky Sports or via an international broadcaster.

Sky games
Games shown live on Sky will not be streamed live in the UK.

Match passes in both the UK and internationally are priced at £10 per game.

This is absolute crap as far as I'm concerned I've been going to PR and away for 15 years and my Lady has been going every season for 41 years, and its not a short bus ride it's a 326 mile round trip but we look after her mum 24/7 so cant go anywhere we watched every game on I follow last season. I follow is not a freebie you still have to pay for it so why are they making a bad business decision to lose money no wonder the EFL lose money hand over fist if it was their onw money they would be bankrupt in a month.

I'm pretty useless when it comes to technology, so can someone talk me through exactly what to do on an iPad. I'm a huge Ipswich fan and have been for 50 odd years. I've bedridden because of a stroke for the past 4 years and it would be absolutely lovely to watch live like everyone else.

I'm in a same boat as cobbold bill . I always thought if you got VPN Ultima premium it cost about 9 pound a week but in any case I didn't know how to get a foreign IP address . If anyone can help that would be great

CobboldBill, I really feel for you mate, I live nearly 2,000 miles away from PR and being abroad get to watch most games for about 167 quid a season, why can EFL or even better ITFC provide a service for people like you who can't get to the ground. There must be a better way and I don't think it would adversely effect crowds for those who wouldn't/couldn't be there anyway. I will happily raise this with the EFL and the club for you.

PS Those of you trying to get around the system for free are the very reason the regulations are so tight, I pay would you if it was provided.

Totally agree with you algarve.... and if you can raise it directly with EFL, please do. Like you, I was very willing to pay the £20/month last season, and looks like I (based in India) will now see almost nothing this season - midweek matches are a 3am job from here and I need to work -, and I will pay far less for any occasional 3am nights over the season. I realise I'm an unusual case, but not alone in this. And agree with the point for those physically unable to get to matches, surely there's a way, without comromising gate figures (yes we all love going there when we can!), and I bet the club (and EFL) can benefit. I've never managed to get illegal streams working, although not comfortable with that anyway. And as mentioned, the fact that radio Suffolk commentary IS available locally (ie to people who might actually go) but NOT to those outside Suffolk, just baffles me.... Might just have to ask my parents to put Skype beside their radio ... but frankly, not practical.

algarvefan - thank you for your comments and agreeing to raise with the EFL and the club. I would willing pay whatever it costs to watch my beloved club play each week. However, if there's anybody out there who can talk through how to watch it on VPN, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
